Promote cooperation with universities
On the same day, the President visited Kyushu University and had a talk with outstanding Vietnamese students of the school. Kyushu University is one of the top 5 public universities in Japan with a history of more than 110 years, with many leading research departments funded annually by the Japanese government. There are currently 53 Vietnamese masters and doctoral students studying at the school; 3 Vietnamese people directly teaching, including 1 associate professor, 2 doctors, and assistant professors. The President visited the International Research Center for Hydrogen Energy at Kyushu University. This is one of the world's leading facilities for hydrogen energy. This center specializes in implementing key projects, collaborating with many large Japanese companies to deploy hydrogen research projects. Currently, Kyushu University has built a miniature "Hydrogen Society" model at Ito campus - one of the first models of "Hydrogen Society" in Japan, with many modern equipment, machinery and infrastructure in the field of hydrogen. Dr. Pham Hung Cuong is the only Vietnamese working and researching at the center. During the meeting with Kyushu University President Ishibashi Tatsuro and the school's leaders and Vietnamese students studying here, the President highly appreciated the achievements and development orientation of Kyushu University, commensurate with the reputation, prestige and historical tradition of more than 110 years of the school. The President welcomed Kyushu University's plan to expand training and receive Vietnamese international students to study at the school through cooperation programs with Vietnamese educational and training institutions. At the same time, he suggested that the school promote cooperation with universities and localities in Vietnam in training and improving the quality of human resources for Vietnam. Speaking to Vietnamese students at Kyushu University, after listening to their stories about life, study and desire to contribute to the country and Vietnam-Japan relations, the President expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements in study and research of Vietnamese students. On the evening of November 30, President Vo Van Thuong and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, successfully concluding an official visit to Japan from November 27 to 30 at the invitation of the State of Japan. During the visit, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and his wife hosted a welcoming ceremony and solemnly hosted President Vo Van Thuong and his wife Phan Thi Thanh Tam. The two leaders led high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold talks, assessing the achievements in the 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations and proposing stronger cooperation directions in the coming time. After the talks, the two leaders issued a Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam-Japan relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world; and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents between ministries and branches of the two countries. The President and his wife met with the Emperor and Empress of Japan; attended the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan; received leaders of several political parties and some Japanese politicians. The President had meetings with the President of the Senate and the President of the House of Representatives of Japan. In particular, the President visited and delivered a policy speech at the Japanese National Assembly, the oldest legislative body in Asia. In Tokyo, the President spent time meeting and talking with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan; met with representatives of generations of Vietnamese people in Japan who have contributed to the relationship between the two countries; received the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance and attended the Vovinam and Japanese martial arts exchange program. The President and his wife had a friendly meeting and had breakfast with Japanese families who had welcomed Vietnamese youth through Vietnam-Japan youth exchange programs. Fukuoka was the final destination of the President's visit.
