From around 7am to 5pm, the Bay Mau coconut forest area is crowded with European and Asian tourists. Both sides of the road near the foot of Cua Dai bridge are full of tourist cars.
Visitors to the Bay Mau coconut forest can join a tour or buy tickets right at the entrance to the coconut forest. Each ticket includes sightseeing, basket boating, and entrance fee of about 250,000 VND.
What makes the coconut forest attractive to tourists is the charming river scenery, green coconut trees, and fresh air like a miniature West.
The Bay Mau coconut forest area is quite clean, there is no more waste on the shore or in the water. In addition, the activities of singing to each other using karaoke speakers have decreased compared to before the government banned it. Thanks to that, this space has become a favorite destination for many tourists during the hot season.
Ms. Huynh Thi Tam (Ho Chi Minh City) visited the Bay Mau coconut forest and said: “My family members and I were very excited to visit the coconut forest. The air here is fresh and cool, and it is ideal to travel here during the hot season.
"I have traveled to the Mekong Delta, but when I came to Cam Thanh, I was surprised because the scenery here is no different from that in the Southwest. The people swim and perform basket-shaking very skillfully, the food is delicious, full of the rustic character of a river delta" - Ms. Tam shared.
Mr. Dang Thanh Tam - Owner of ECO TOUR Thai Binh Hoi An tourist area in Bay Mau coconut forest said that he has been doing tourism business in the forest for more than 15 years. For many years, tourists coming here have always enjoyed being taken to visit the coconut forest and Cua Dai fishing village by basket boat.
Or tourists can directly cook local dishes. “When there is a tour program, I will promote both Vietnamese and foreign tourists so that they can have an interesting tour and experience” – Mr. Tam shared.
It is known that in the near future, Hoi An City will study and open a tour for European tourists to visit Bay Mau coconut forest. The location for the tour is expected to be a fairly isolated area, surrounding the coconut forest near Cua Dai bridge, serving the group of tourists who love to explore the ecological space of rivers and choose tranquility.
