Giving up vegetable trading, embarking on the journey of "clean vegetables"

Mr. Tran Phuoc Linh, owner of Phuoc Linh vegetable garden, is a biotechnology engineer graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

After graduating in 2006, Mr. Linh worked in many different jobs, from a government employee; manager of a private agricultural company, then a vegetable and root trader with about 30 workers, transporting 5 to 7 tons of vegetables per day to wholesale markets in Thu Duc, Hoc Mon, Da Nang... but he decided to quit the vegetable trading job, renting 5 hectares of land to grow regular vegetables.

And it was also during his work, witnessing the situation of "good harvest, low price, good price, bad harvest" and the negative effects of using chemical fertilizers and pesticides, that he nurtured the will to bring consumers safe and quality vegetable products.

After researching the market, Mr. Linh discussed with his family and decided to produce organic vegetables, providing clean products to consumers.

At first, the couple only sold organic vegetables at Ninh Gia market, selling about 5 kg of vegetables per day, at a price of 20-25 thousand VND/kg, the same price as regular vegetables, but people still did not buy them because the products were not as beautiful as the stalls next door.

Undaunted, Mr. Linh advertised his products on social networks like Facebook and Zalo. At the same time, he boldly registered for a business license to have legal status, fulfill his tax obligations to the State and register to produce organic vegetables to be granted a certificate.

Organic certification and customer trust

Mr. Linh spent a long time improving the land and renting additional isolated plots of land, far from the local people's regular vegetable gardens, so that his garden would not be affected by chemicals and pesticides. Around the garden, he planted bananas to create a fence, to prevent external impacts on the vegetable garden.

Mr. Linh's efforts were duly rewarded when in 2023, Phuoc Linh vegetable garden received a certificate of product meeting Vietnamese standards on organic agriculture from the Center for Inspection and Certification of Conformity (VietCert Lam Dong).

Good news spread far and wide, and the organic vegetable products of Phuoc Linh vegetable garden gradually gained the trust of consumers. Customers from all over the provinces and cities from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City regularly order products via social networks.

To ensure the quality of fresh vegetables when they reach customers, Mr. Linh has built a professional transportation system. Every day, customers follow the products he sells on social networks to place orders.

He assigned 3 employees to receive messages and place orders; more than 10 workers to produce and package products to send by bus and truck; when the goods arrive at the bus station in the provinces, Grab motorbike taxis will pick up the goods and deliver them to consumers on time; the overnight transportation process only takes 6 to 10 hours, so when the products reach consumers, they are still fresh, beautiful, and of guaranteed quality.

Currently, each month his family supplies the market with about 5 - 9 tons of vegetables, with an average selling price of 35 to 50 thousand VND/kg. After deducting the cost of hiring workers, each month Mr. Linh's family earns a profit of several tens of millions of VND.

With the motto "Honesty, ethics, good service will be the key to success", Phuoc Linh vegetable garden not only brings quality products but also builds trust with customers by enthusiasm and thoughtfulness in service.

Thanks to that, Phuoc Linh vegetable garden has created stable jobs for 20 workers with an income of 10 - 12 million VND/person/month, contributing to improving the lives of local workers.

Phuoc Linh Vegetable Garden is a testament to the passion, dedication and responsibility of farmers in the journey to bring the community safe products, contributing to protecting health and the environment.

Mr. Linh's family model is a source of inspiration for those who want to develop sustainable agriculture, aiming for a green future for themselves and for future generations.
