Dak Nong's GRDP growth ranks second in the Central Highlands region.

On the afternoon of April 3, the collective leadership of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee chaired a 3-level online conference to assess the socio-economic situation, ensure national defense and security in March, the first quarter and directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2025.

Opening the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized that in the first quarter, Dak Nong continuously received many instructions from the Central and Provincial Party Committees in all fields. Many socio-economic fields achieved quite high figures. GRDP growth reached 7.7%, an increase of 0.25% compared to the first quarter plan, an increase of 1.93% compared to the same period in 2024. With this result, Dak Nong GRDP ranked 2nd in the Central Highlands region.

To achieve the growth rate of 8.11% as set out, the province is focusing on many drastic solutions. In the immediate future, the disbursement of public investment capital must be accelerated.

“The province's investment capital disbursement currently ranks 30th out of 63 provinces and cities. Although the figure is quite good, the amount of undisbursed capital in 2025 is still very large. Meanwhile, the weather in the Central Highlands is entering the rainy season. Therefore, everyone must join in to complete everything, so that when the weather is favorable, we can speed up the progress, especially the key projects,” emphasized Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi.

Units and localities focus on exploiting the potential to increase budget revenue. Relevant units actively support and speed up the issuance of investment policies for enterprises and investors, especially for investors in the field of bauxite mining and processing.

According to the assessment, in the first quarter of 2025, the socio-economic situation of Dak Nong remained stable. Agricultural production was favorable, coffee output and price were higher than the same period last year. The industrial development index increased quite well. Budget revenue was high.

However, in the first quarter of 2025, many major tasks that directly contribute to the growth momentum in 2025 are behind schedule. For example, the approval of the 2025 land use plan of localities. The progress of urban planning implementation still has shortcomings. The process of arranging and innovating agricultural and forestry companies to improve production and business efficiency still has major obstacles.

In the first quarter of 2025, Dak Nong GRDP growth reached 7.7% (plan 7.32%) . State budget revenue was 1,471 billion VND, reaching 52 % of the central estimate, 42 % of the local estimate, up 37 % over the same period last year . The general rate of asphalting and hardening reached 72 % / 74%; the urbanization rate reached 26.2 % / 27%; the rate of households using electricity reached 99%.
