In the new school year 2024-2025, Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School, Quang Hoa Commune, Dak Glong District is expected to have about 600 students, with 20 classrooms. Principal of Nguyen Ba Ngoc Thai Mai Tinh Primary School said that the 2024-2025 school year is the year to implement the General Education Program for grade 5. Thanks to the construction of new classrooms, the school can ensure the need to organize teaching 2 sessions/week according to regulations.
To prepare the best conditions for the new school year, the Dak Nong Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct districts and cities to proactively prioritize capital sources, focusing on investing in facilities and classrooms. Educational institutions develop plans to repair and upgrade facilities, proactively advise local authorities to mobilize resources according to regulations to purchase, repair, upgrade facilities, replace broken and old equipment, and supplement missing equipment in schools to ensure teaching and learning conditions, especially conditions for building schools that meet national standards.
Hoa Mi Kindergarten, Dak Nia Commune, Gia Nghia City has about 300 children studying this year. To ensure the best conditions for child care and education, staff, teachers and employees have coordinated with parents to organize a general cleaning of classrooms, and plant flowers and trees in the new classroom area.
Teachers of each class organized the making of tools and toys for children from recycled materials. From the school gate, the school yard to the classrooms, the school decorated them with funny and cute tools and toys to impress and attract children when they returned to school and started the new school year. Tools, toys, and stone benches in the school yard were also given a new look when teachers repainted them with beautiful colors, images of animals, trees, and flowers.
Vice Principal of Hoa Mi Kindergarten Nguyen Thi Van Anh said that since the beginning of August, the school's staff and teachers have been involved in preparations for the new school year. Now everything is ready to welcome children to school, and enrollment for all grades has also been completed.
According to statistics, in the 2024-2025 school year, Dak Nong province has 370 educational institutions at all levels. From various capital sources, the education sector has invested about 335.58 billion VND, of which 324.26 billion VND is for building new classrooms, renovating, repairing and upgrading facilities. Many localities have proactively prioritized focusing on investment capital for building new and repairing schools to meet the criteria for new rural construction and building schools that meet national standards.
A typical example is Dak Glong district, which has the largest investment budget of over 120.25 billion VND. With this budget, the locality has built 44 new classrooms, 46 subject classrooms, 1 administrative office, 6 multi-purpose buildings and repaired technical infrastructure items in schools and other auxiliary works.
Dak Song district has also prioritized allocating about 33.7 billion VND to build 14 new classrooms, 4 functional rooms, 1 principal's office, 2 security houses, renovate 36 classrooms, 1 kitchen, 2 physical education areas, teacher's toilet, 1 student toilet, 1 security house, gates, fences and drainage ditches...
Currently, the Dak Nong provincial education sector has implemented bidding packages to purchase books for ethnic minority students, purchase preschool equipment, student desks and chairs, and supplement minimum teaching equipment, new general education program equipment, and online learning support equipment with a budget of 11.32 billion VND.
The Department of Education and Training has implemented the process of purchasing minimum teaching equipment for grades 5, 9, 12 and purchasing additional equipment for the remaining grades. In addition, educational institutions have proactively promoted the timely purchase of textbooks, notebooks, and school supplies for their children, calling for socialization of textbooks and notebooks, striving for all students to have enough textbooks in the new school year.
To improve the quality of teaching, the education sector has organized professional training courses for key staff and teachers at all levels. After training, the key staff conduct training for school teachers to update new professional knowledge, especially teaching methods, testing and student assessment. 100% of staff and teachers participate in political classes during the summer.
Head of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Nghia City, Pham Thi Ha, said that the summer political training for 2024 for school managers, teachers and staff has been completed. Thereby, it helps education managers and teachers grasp the basic contents and new points in the documents of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee; a number of resolutions and action programs of the Provincial Party Committee and the City Party Committee related to science and education. This is the basis for cadres and teachers to apply creatively and appropriately to teaching work, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in the new situation.
In addition to the advantages, Dak Nong is currently facing great difficulties in the situation of teacher shortage. However, the province has also made basic preparations to overcome the difficulties and ensure the teaching needs of educational institutions in the area. Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong province, Phan Thanh Hai, said that the Department has conducted a review of the whole province on the need for teachers in the new school year. On that basis, the Department directed educational institutions to implement a number of solutions suitable to the actual conditions in the locality such as: consolidating classes, rotating teachers from places with surplus to places with shortage, arranging staff and teachers in charge of teaching at many schools near each other in the same area... The Department requested localities to quickly recruit contract teachers according to regulations to supplement the current number of teachers. At the same time, it recommended that all levels supplement the teacher payroll to meet the long-term teaching and learning needs.
According to Mr. Hai, to ensure all conditions for the new school year, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has organized inspections of preparations in districts and cities, thereby promptly guiding and directing educational institutions and localities to overcome current limitations and difficulties in both human and material resources. Up to now, preparations have been completed, meeting all requirements for the opening of the new school year.
