Dak Nong promotes the role of 61 community agricultural extension groups

The KNCĐ group of Truong Xuan commune, Dak Song district was established on the basis of consolidating local agricultural extension groups. By closely following the needs of the people and the actual production situation, the group has initially brought about practical results.

Recently, the KNCĐ Group of Truong Xuan commune has coordinated with Vietnam Co., Ltd., Binh Minh Cooperative, Bechamp Cooperative... to organize training courses on coffee care techniques, integrated pest management (IPM), and transfer of theory on "Organic agricultural production process set" to the people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Ly in Bu Pah hamlet, Truong Xuan commune, members of the commune's KNCĐ Team have actively encouraged farmers to participate in training courses, access technology and production processes suitable to local conditions and production needs.

“Therefore, many agricultural models applying production processes according to quality standards, food safety, and meeting market demand have been formed and promoted effectively in the locality. It can be said that the activities of the KNCĐ Group have breathed new life into agricultural areas in rural areas,” said Mr. Ly.

In Nam Binh commune, Dak Song district, the commune's KNCĐ Team has cooperated with the Coffee and Import-Export Goods Inspection Joint Stock Company (CAFECONTROL) to support the organization of training courses on coffee production according to 4C standards for members of the Doan Ket Cooperative.

CAFECONTROL Company also consults and supports the cooperative in producing more than hundreds of tons of high-quality coffee. The product is contracted by Quang Vinh Company Limited, Dak Song District to purchase all of it.

The KNCĐ group of Nam Da commune, Krong No district has organized vocational training classes for rural workers and attracted nearly 1,000 participants.

Mr. Phan Van Minh, Head of the Nam Da Commune Community Development Team, said: “The training content focuses on coffee and pepper production, techniques for raising and preventing diseases for livestock, poultry, and freshwater aquatic products. Up to now, the Commune Community Development Team has built many effective production models such as: Nam Ha Village Flower Growing Cooperative, Livestock Breeding Cooperative, Organic Coffee Production Group…”.

In addition to regular activities at the local level, some KNCĐ groups have gradually operated under the public-private partnership (PPP) mechanism, helping group members gain more capacity, work experience, and increase income.

In particular, some KNCĐ groups in districts such as Dak R'lap, Dak Glong, Krong No... coordinated with TMT Consulting JSC to survey the current status of coffee production in the communes. After the surveys, the consulting unit collected over 5,025 field survey forms.

In addition, the KNCĐ teams also coordinated with TMT Consulting JSC to collect nearly 400 soil samples for analysis. Thereby, helping coffee growers determine details about fertility and other microbiological factors, as a basis for nutritional management for coffee, pepper and other crops at the farm.

Members of the Community Development Team of Truong Xuan Commune, Dak Song District (Dak Nong) visit each household to advise on plant care and disease prevention.

“Through this, it helps to apply fertilizers in a balanced and reasonable manner, contributing to increasing production efficiency, aiming to reduce carbon emissions in agricultural production, protect the environment and develop sustainable agriculture in Dak Nong”, said Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Director of the Dak Nong Agricultural Extension Center - Agricultural and Forestry Seeds.

Dak Nong currently has 61 KNCĐ groups, with 705 members participating. The members of the KNCĐ groups are quite diverse, including leaders of the People's Committees at the commune level, cadastral officers, agricultural officers, veterinary staff, mass organizations at the commune and village levels, cooperatives and farmers from communes and wards.
