Pig price today April 3: Increased again in many Northern provinces

After many consecutive days of price reduction, the price of live pigs in the North today suddenly increased again in many localities, creating a positive signal for farmers. The price increase is believed to come from a slight increase in demand for pork consumption, combined with the psychology of keeping goods waiting for high prices of farmers in many midland and delta regions of the North.

Meanwhile, localities such as Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Thai Binh, and Lao Cai still keep prices stable at around 65,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

The price increase is believed to come from a slight increase in demand for pork consumption, combined with the psychology of keeping goods waiting for high prices among farmers in many midland and delta regions of the North.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central and Central Highlands regions continued to maintain stable prices. Some places such as Quang Tri and Quang Binh recorded a slight increase of VND1,000/kg, up to VND67,000/kg.

Other provinces such as Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa still maintain at 67,000 VND/kg, no change compared to yesterday.

In the Central Highlands, Dak Lak continues to maintain the price at 69,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong and Binh Thuan are still the two localities with the highest prices in the region, fluctuating between 72,000 - 73,000 VND/kg.

This is a rare area that maintains good prices in the context of the national pig market showing signs of strong differentiation in supply and demand.

Pig price in the South

The price of live pigs in the South on April 3 continued to decrease slightly in some localities, especially Ho Chi Minh City and Ninh Thuan, both down 1,000 VND/kg, to 71,000 VND/kg.

Provinces such as Dong Nai, Long An, Ben Tre maintain common prices of 72,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, while Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Ca Mau maintain higher prices, from 73,000 - 75,000 VND/kg.

The Southeast market is facing great pressure on supply as many pigs are ready to be sold at the same time, while purchasing power slows down as people tighten spending after the holidays.

According to traders and large purchasing agents in the South, the price of live pigs in the coming time is unlikely to increase sharply if consumption does not improve significantly. However, some processing enterprises are returning to collect goods to serve export orders, which can help stabilize the price at 70,000 - 75,000 VND/kg in the short term.

In addition, localities such as Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, and Binh Duong are strengthening vaccination, quarantine, and surveillance of African swine fever, helping to control the disease well, stabilize herds, and supply sources.
