On the morning of May 15, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) of Yen Mo district held its 6th Congress for the 2024-2029 term. This is the unit selected by the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to organize the district-level model congress.
Attending the official session of the Congress were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province and leaders of Yen Mo district.
During the 2019-2024 term, the Youth Union and Youth Movement of Yen Mo district have developed quite comprehensively; completing and exceeding 11 targets set by the 5th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of the district.
The work of educating members and youth in ideals, ethics and lifestyles has been effectively directed and implemented by the Association at all levels, in conjunction with the movement "I love my Fatherland", the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and lifestyle"; creating a favorable environment for members and youth in the whole district to cultivate, practice and clearly understand the role and responsibility of youth towards their homeland and country.
Youth companion programs are also being implemented by the Association at all levels, especially activities to support the improvement of knowledge and social practice skills for young people, career counseling and support for startups, and transfer of science and technology.
Thereby, it has aroused and promoted the pioneering spirit of Yen Mo youth to participate in volunteer activities for community life, start-ups, careers, creative work..., contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Some outstanding results of the youth of Yen Mo district in the past 5 years include: building 15 km of new roads, installing 42 km of electric lines to light up rural roads, planting over 30 km of tree-lined and flower-lined roads; contributing nearly 10,000 working days to repair, renovate and build 137 new stadiums, cultural houses, entertainment venues and roads; supporting and building 15 gratitude houses, charity houses, and Red Scarf houses; giving over 3,600 gifts to policy families, bicycles and scholarships to poor students; donating over 5,200 units of blood.
Up to now, the total outstanding loan balance of the Social Policy Bank in the Youth Union and Association system in the whole district has reached over 90 billion VND; more than 200 models and projects of youth have been disbursed with support capital according to Resolution No. 43 of the Provincial People's Council (now amended to Resolution No. 103) with a total amount of 7.9 billion VND.
Through the programs and activities of the Association, the youth have been attracted, gathered and united. In the past 5 years, the Association at all levels in Yen Mo district has established 4 Association organizations in non-state enterprises, developed 3,000 new members, and increased the rate of young people of the right age to participate in the activities of the Union and Association to 68%.
At the Congress, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province and leaders of Yen Mo district presented flowers to congratulate the impressive results in the work of the Union and the youth movement of Yen Mo district, term 2019-2024.
With the spirit of "Solidarity - Volunteerism - Creativity - Development", the Congress focused on discussing and reaching consensus on striving to implement 15 targets and groups of tasks and solutions for the Association's work and youth movement in the period of 2024-2029.
The Congress conducted consultations and elected 29 people to be members of the Youth Union Committee and the positions of President and Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Yen Mo District, term VI, 2024-2029. Mr. Dinh Duc Hai, Secretary of the District Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Yen Mo District, term V, continued to be trusted and elected as President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Yen Mo District, term VI, 2024-2029.
The Congress also elected 19 official delegates to join the Yen Mo District Delegation to attend the 6th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024-2029.
