Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) has just announced that Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Thanh Tam registered for the second time the transfer of more than 86 million shares, worth about 2,436 billion VND.

Specifically, on December 25, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam registered to sell 86.55 million KBC shares (out of a total of nearly 138.67 million shares currently held) in the period from January 2-28, 2025.

The reason for redoing this transaction is because Mr. Dang Thanh Tam registered to transfer 86.55 million shares registered to be executed during the period from November 25 to December 24 to DTT Investment and Development JSC to contribute capital with KBC shares but was unsuccessful.

The reason for not completing the transaction is because the procedures at the competent authority have not been completed.

Thus, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam has registered to re-transfer more than 86 million KBC shares to his own company.

Before the transaction, DTT Company did not hold any shares in KBC. If the transaction is successful, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam's private company will become a new major shareholder of Kinh Bac, with an ownership ratio of 11.27%. Meanwhile, Mr. Tam will reduce his ownership to more than 52 million shares, equivalent to 6.79% of the shares.

At the end of the trading session on December 25, KBC shares increased slightly to VND28,150/share. If the transaction is successful, the number of shares Mr. Tam transferred to his private company is worth about VND2,436 billion.

DTT Investment and Development JSC was established in January 2024 with the business of real estate. Initially, Mr. Tam held more than 90% of DTT shares. However, by November 19, Mr. Tam only held 18.06% of DTT's capital.

The transfer of shares by business leaders to private companies is quite common among listed companies on the Vietnamese stock market. Businessmen tend to concentrate their assets in one place for easier management and to bring many other benefits.

Previously, many businessmen such as Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung (SSI), Dang Van Thanh, Le Phuoc Vu (HSG), Nguyen Duc Tai (MWG), or Mr. Tran Kim Thanh and his wife (KDC)... have also transferred shares to their own companies.

Transferring shares to a private company helps entrepreneurs avoid paying taxes when receiving cash dividends (5%), and avoid paying personal income tax when transferring securities (0.1% of the value of securities sold).

The move to transfer KBC shares to Mr. Dang Thanh Tam's private company is noteworthy after Trump Organization - the corporation of Mr. Donald Trump's family and Hung Yen Hotel Services JSC - a subsidiary of Kinh Bac Urban Area on September 25 announced cooperation and investment in a hotel complex, golf course, and residential area worth about 1.5 billion USD in Hung Yen.

The complex includes a 54-hole Vvip golf course system, a high-end resort system and a villa system providing services according to the highest standards of Trump Organization to serve special events and high-level conferences. In addition, there is a system of hotels and modern urban and residential complexes.

Just before that, KBC approved the offering of 250 million KBC shares to professional securities investors, expected to raise 6,250 billion VND. Recently, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam's son and daughter have also started participating in business activities in Mr. Tam's family's business ecosystem.

After KBC's handshake with Donald Trump, Dang Thanh Tam's second son, Dang Nguyen Nam Anh, appeared for the first time as the representative of KBC's office in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.

Previously, Ms. Dang Nguyen Quynh Anh (1996) - Mr. Tam's daughter bought KBC shares and became a shareholder of her father's company. Currently, Ms. Quynh Anh owns more than 13.3 million shares and is a member of KBC's Board of Directors.

Mr. Dang Thanh Tam and his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, have 4 children: Dang Nguyen Quynh Anh, Dang Nguyen Nam Anh, Dang Nguyen Duy Anh and Dang Nguyen Bao Anh.

Donald Trump's group wants to invest in Hung Yen: Mr. Dang Thanh Tam's company is booming? Kinh Bac Urban Development (KBC) of tycoon Dang Thanh Tam exploded after Mr. Donald Trump won the US presidential election. The project that Mr. Trump plans to invest in Hung Yen is considered a boost for Kinh Bac.
