Kinhtedothi- On the evening of November 22, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province held a ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22, 1904 - November 22, 2024). The ceremony was held at 10/3 Square (Buon Ma Thuot City).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee informed that after 120 years of establishment and development, Dak Lak has now become a fairly large province in the Central Highlands region. The province has a natural area and population that is among the top provinces and cities in the country. With the area and output of coffee, pepper, and durian ranking first in the country; it is an important traffic hub of the Central Highlands.
Dak Lak province's economy maintains a fairly high growth rate; the value of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) ranks first in the Central Highlands region. In the period of 2021 - 2023, the average economic growth will reach 7%/year, the scale of the economy will increasingly expand; GRDP per capita in 2024 is estimated at nearly 75 million VND. The structure of economic sectors has shifted positively, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and gradually increasing the proportion of services, industry and construction; the agricultural sector has been restructured towards high added value and sustainable development; the appearance of the province has many positive changes.
Social culture has made much progress, social security has been ensured; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, especially in remote areas, and ethnic minority areas. Party building and political system building have always been given attention; the organization and operation of the administrative apparatus have been gradually innovated towards streamlining, effective and efficient operations; national defense and security have been strengthened and maintained, the country's borders have been firmly protected; international cooperation and regional linkages have been effectively promoted. Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged, highly appreciated and warmly congratulated and commended the efforts and achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Dak Lak province in the past time.
Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that in order to develop sustainably, worthy of its central position and the main driving force of the Central Highlands, Dak Lak province needs to continue to closely follow the direction of the Central Committee, concretize the goals and tasks stated in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress (term 2020 - 2025), especially Conclusion No. 67 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Buon Ma Thuot City. Resolution No. 23 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands. Resolution No. 72 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Buon Ma Thuot City and Decision No. 1747 of the Prime Minister approving the planning of Dak Lak province, striving to achieve the goal that by 2050 Dak Lak will "become a province with ecological space, identity, creative connections, a favorite and livable destination".
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also directed Dak Lak province to mobilize its combined strength, effectively exploit development potentials and advantages, and strongly promote new growth drivers, especially digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, and new industries and fields with high technology. Innovate the economic model, focusing on developing advantageous, large-scale, high-quality, and large-export agricultural and forestry products. Promote agricultural activities in processing agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and renewable energy production; build an urban economy, digital infrastructure, transport infrastructure, and irrigation; develop services - logistics - tourism based on digital transformation; preserve cultural heritage values, and select economic activities suitable to local cultural characteristics.

Also within the framework of the ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province, comrade Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the Certificate of National Treasure "Thac Hai Stone Drill Collection" to Dak Lak province. In addition, the National Records Institute has conducted inspections and established 3 national records of the province: Dak Lak is the province with the largest coffee growing area in Vietnam (reaching 212,106 hectares); Lak Lake, Lak district, Dak Lak province is the largest natural freshwater lake in the Central Highlands in Vietnam (over 500 hectares, at an altitude of nearly 417 meters above sea level) and Yok Don National Park, Dak Lak province is the largest dry dipterocarp forest ecosystem conservation national park in Vietnam.
The celebration also featured large-scale, unique cultural programs. The ceremony ended with a spectacular fireworks display that attracted viewers.
