Mr. Le Quang Nghia, Director of An Hoa Cultural Park, said the crocodile weighed 10 kg and was one meter long, and was caught in a net (a type of fishing gear used to trap fish). This was the last of eight crocodiles that escaped from the cage two months ago.
The escaped crocodile was among 44 crocodiles (weighing 10-25 kg) that the park had raised for visitors 10 years ago. The park management mobilized many forces to conduct electric shocks, remove all the water hyacinth from the lake, use ducks as bait, and set up traps to catch the crocodiles. Seven crocodiles were captured one by one.
After catching all the escaped crocodiles, the park proposed transferring all the fish to the authorities for disposal.
An Hoa Park is 39 hectares wide with lots of trees, attracting many people to come and play. Currently, some parts of the park are degraded, but the renovation project with a budget of 150 billion VND has not found an investor.
