According to the latest report of the General Statistics Office on the socio-economic situation in November, the consumer price index (CPI) in November increased by 0.13% compared to the previous month. Compared to December 2023, the CPI in November increased by 2.65% and compared to the same period last year, it increased by 2.77%.

On average, in the first 11 months of 2024, CPI increased by 3.69% over the same period last year; core inflation increased by 2.7%.

In November, 8 groups of goods and services had price indexes increase and 3 groups had price indexes decrease. 3 groups decreased in price including transportation group decreased by 0.07%, food and catering services group decreased by 0.22%, post and telecommunications group decreased by 0.3%.

The gold price index in November increased by 2.26% compared to the previous month; increased by 32.91% compared to December 2023; increased by 38.2% compared to the same period last year. On average, in the 11 months of 2024, the gold price index increased by 28.42%.

The USD price index in the month also increased by 1.76% compared to the previous month; increased by 4.22% compared to December 2023; increased by 3.63% compared to the same period last year. The average increase of 11 months in 2024 increased by 4.97%.

In November, the total preliminary import and export turnover of goods reached 66.4 billion USD, down 4.1% compared to the previous month and up 9.0% compared to the same period last year. In the 11 months, the total preliminary import and export turnover of goods reached 715.55 billion USD, up 15.4% compared to the same period last year, of which exports increased by 14.4%; imports increased by 16.4%. The trade balance of goods had a surplus of 24.31 billion USD.

The US is Vietnam's largest export market with a turnover of 108.9 billion USD. China is Vietnam's largest import market with a turnover of 130.2 billion USD.
