Realizing that each candidate has a proud personal story and to recognize every individual effort on the journey to conquer IELTS, the British Council launches the IELTS Prize 2025 (for IELTS Inspirers).
The award aims to honor inspirational stories, providing financial support to individuals who appreciate the true value of IELTS, dare to dream and pursue it to the end, no matter where that journey starts from and towards any destination.
The success stories from the winners are a strong source of encouragement for those who are conquering IELTS, thereby contributing to building a vibrant learning environment where everyone shares experiences, inspires and strives to improve.

According to Ms. Samantha Lea Smith - National Testing Director (Vietnam), since its first launch in 2011, the IELTS Prize has continuously evolved to keep pace with the ever-changing world, gradually connecting more deeply with candidates who have chosen IELTS to create meaningful milestones in their own educational journey, career and future.
Continuing the original values and mission of the award, IELTS Prize2025 is implemented with a new version with more open and flexible criteria than ever. The program expands opportunities for candidates regardless of age or profession.
IELTS Prize 2025 begins its journey with three innovative and accessible test formats, tailored to different target groups. Students are encouraged to share their breakthrough moments in their IELTS journey.
For teachers, the test aims to explore the true value of IELTS in their teaching journey and career ideals, along with memorable lessons from their own personal experiences. Meanwhile, other candidates have the opportunity to tell about their journey of overcoming difficulties and persistent efforts to achieve their IELTS goals.
About how to participate and the deadlines of the rounds:
- Round 1 (April 15, 2025 – June 15, 2025): Candidates make an English video of up to 2 minutes according to the selected test topic, post it publicly on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram or Threads with the hashtag: #IELTSPrize2025 #IELTSInspirers#BritishCouncilIELTS. Then, send the video link and personal information via the official application form.
- Round 2 (July 7, 2025 – July 18, 2025): Online interview.
- Announcement of results (July 29, 2025): Via the British Council website and Facebook.
The total prize value is up to 350 million VND. Specifically, the outstanding individuals in the top 15 of IELTS Prize 2025 will be awarded: 5 Special Prizes (each worth 50 million VND) and 10 Inspirational Prizes (each worth 10 million VND).
