Regarding the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity, Comrade To Lam said that after the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, some people were worried that the work of preventing and fighting corruption and negativity would slacken and be forgotten. But in reality, the work of preventing and fighting corruption and negativity was still being implemented vigorously, synchronously, comprehensively, systematically, and in-depth, with no forbidden areas or exceptions.

The Politburo and the Secretariat have reached a high consensus on the policy of continuing to promote the fight against corruption and negativity and have decided to add the content of preventing and combating waste, creating a "trio that needs to be eliminated": "corruption - waste - negativity". This decision has created a great deterrent and warning effect and this work will continue to be carried out resolutely, persistently and continuously in the coming time.

The Politburo and the Secretariat added functions and tasks of waste prevention and control to the Central and provincial Steering Committees, focusing on directing waste prevention and control in the management and use of public finance and public assets.

For example, according to a report by the Ministry of Public Security, there are still 2,805 projects nationwide that are slow or not put into use, which pose a risk of causing waste. Initially, it was determined that there are 483 projects with a land area of ​​19,775 hectares that have not been put into use. The provinces have preliminarily reported that there are 3,495 projects behind schedule, and 54,293 hectares of land that are slow or not put into use.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party will continue to carry out the fight against corruption, waste and negativity with determination and resoluteness, without any forbidden areas or exceptions. In particular, in the process of organizing Party Congresses at all levels, restructuring the administrative system, arranging cadres, relocating agency headquarters, not organizing at the district level, reorganizing at the commune level... the situation of "fishing in troubled waters" and "taking advantage of the situation" for corruption, waste and negativity will not be ruled out.

“Therefore, in addition to the main responsibility of the political system, the Central and provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, I hope that comrades and people will participate more strongly in the task of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity,” the General Secretary suggested.
