On August 14, in Hai Phong, Hong Ha Shipbuilding One Member Co., Ltd. (Factory Z173, General Department of Defense Industry) held a keel laying ceremony to build a new oil transport ship for the General Department of Logistics.

The ship was technically designed by the Military Ship Design Institute (under the General Department of Defense Industry). The ship has a maximum length of 89.98m; maximum width of 13.85m; height of 7.2m; full load displacement of 5,017 tons; maximum speed of 12 nautical miles/hour; ability to withstand level 9 waves and level 11 winds; unlimited operating area, operating range of 5,000 nautical miles; ship capacity of 3,000 tons of oil or 2,600 tons of gasoline.

During the ship construction process since the contract signing, Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company Limited has always applied advanced standards and technologies to improve product quality, aesthetics, and convenience in the exploitation and use process. Thanks to that, up to now, the total standard section of the 3,000-ton oil tanker has been completed, meeting the conditions for keel laying.
In the coming time, Hong Ha Shipbuilding One Member Co., Ltd. will continue to speed up the construction and installation of the following hull sections; organize the construction of power, mechanical, electrical, marine equipment items... to ensure quality and absolute safety.
It is known that this is the first time Hong Ha Shipbuilding One Member Co., Ltd. has built a new 3,000-ton oil tanker, contributing to the implementation of strategic transportation tasks, ensuring fuel for forces on duty to fight and protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; at the same time, this is a product selected by the Department of Transport as a project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
Speaking at the keel laying ceremony, the leaders and commanders of the General Department of Defense Industry and the General Department of Logistics highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company and related units in the initial steps of shipbuilding. At the same time, they requested the construction unit to focus all resources, further promote the sense of responsibility, promote experience, closely coordinate with the investor and related units to actively carry out construction to ensure the quality and progress of the new shipbuilding according to the signed contract and ensure safety. The leaders and commanders of the two General Departments also requested the agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to continue to pay attention, monitor, assist and direct the implementation of the project according to schedule and regulations.
