Vietnam's engineers, military doctors and air force practice disaster response in India

On November 12, the Vietnam - India bilateral exercise on United Nations peacekeeping 2024 (VINBAX 2024) in India continued with activities in the specialized skills training phase.

In particular, here, Vietnam's engineering, medical and air force forces participated in practicing disaster response mechanisms as well as search and rescue.

Specifically, the Vietnamese engineering force participated in classroom theory lessons on India's disaster response mechanism and practiced the following contents: Assembling prefabricated houses according to United Nations standards, building a system of surrounding walls and observation towers at a United Nations base, designing and constructing ammunition storage for a company-level unit at a United Nations peacekeeping mission.

For military medical forces participating in observing field exercises to classify emergency aid for earthquake and house collapse disasters (external emergency team) and emergency aid classification at level 2 field hospitals.

As for the air force, they will observe the take-off and landing procedures of the Indian HAL Prachand helicopter.

This is the fifth time Vietnam and India have conducted a bilateral peacekeeping exercise and the third field exercise on UN peacekeeping held alternately in each country since 2008.

According to information from the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, the VINBAX 2024 exercise took place from November 3 to 24 at the 67th Engineer Regiment, 474th Engineer Brigade, Western Military Region, stationed in Ambala and Brigade 474 in Chandimandir, Haryana, India.

Each delegation directly participating in the exercise includes 47 members along with administrative, technical logistics, reception, etc. forces provided by the host country, India.
