Kien Giang police join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

With the goal of effectively implementing the policy of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Kien Giang province on joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Kien Giang province by 2025, contributing to accelerating the progress of construction and repair of houses for people, the Party Committee and the Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department organized a launching ceremony to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province; directed the police of units and localities to thoroughly disseminate to officers and soldiers to seriously implement with the highest determination.

According to the plan, Kien Giang Provincial Police will help people build 600 new houses, focusing on districts and communes with high rates of temporary and dilapidated houses, while conducting surveys and assessing the actual situation, thereby providing specific solutions suitable for each locality. Focusing on supporting Khmer people to complete their houses early and before the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.

Kien Giang Provincial Police Youth Union supports people to build houses.

Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Quoc - Head of the Youth Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police said: "Implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Kien Giang province, the Youth Department advised the Party Committee and the Provincial Police Department to deploy a movement for Kien Giang Police youth to spend the weekend with the people to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and replace them with solid houses...".

During Youth Month 2025, dozens of teams including members of 20 Youth Unions under the Provincial Police Youth Union directly participated in the 3 activities of "eating, living, and working together" with the people in the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the province from Friday to Sunday every week.

Recently, the image of cadres, union members, and young people who are People's Public Security soldiers, not afraid of hardship, helping people transport materials, build or repair houses has become familiar. This not only helps save construction costs but also shows the spirit of closeness and sharing with the people.

Ms. Thi Dao, residing in Thanh Loc commune, Giong Rieng district (Kien Giang) confided: "Before, our house was in disrepair, when it rained, my two grandchildren and I had difficulty taking shelter from the rain. Now, with the support of the government, especially the police force, to build a house, I am very grateful."

The commune police force coordinated with local authorities to start building a solidarity house.

The police of communes, wards and towns in the province proactively reviewed and grasped the thoughts and aspirations of the people at the grassroots level, assessed and identified the beneficiaries to ensure compliance with regulations. Assigned officers and soldiers to each household on the list of support for house construction, propagated and mobilized households to soon complete the site, supported people in transporting supplies and materials, demolishing old houses... to help complete the work of removing temporary and dilapidated houses on schedule and achieve the best results.
