Financial stocks plummet, VN-Index falls to 1,250 points

NDO - The first trading session of the week, November 11, the market opened in green but quickly reversed and fell sharply, stocks in many sectors such as banking, securities, energy... were in red; the return of buying pressure in the afternoon session only helped the VN-Index decrease slightly by 2.24 points at the close, to 1,250.32 points.


Market liquidity increased sharply compared to the previous session and was at a high level, with the total trading volume of the three floors reaching more than 886.62 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND 21,157.76 billion.

Foreign investors continued to net sell with a value of more than VND 963.25 billion, focusing on codes MSN (more than VND 245 billion), CMG (more than VND 206 billion), STB (more than VND 112 billion), SSI (more than VND 69 billion), MWG (more than VND 65 billion)...

On the contrary, the stocks with the most net purchases in this session included HPG (over 160 billion VND), DGC (over 67 billion VND), CSV (over 27 billion VND), GMD (over 13 billion VND), TLG (over 10 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session also increased sharply compared to the previous session, reaching more than 17,619.21 billion VND.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increased by more than 5.01 points include: HPG, FPT, VHM, HVN, GVR, MSN, DGC, BCM, CMG, BVH.

On the contrary, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index by more than 5.53 points included: BID, STB, MWG, TCB, VPB, HDB, MBB, TPB, LPB, VCB.

In terms of industry groups, banking stocks were in red this session, with a decrease of 1.09%, mainly coming from codes BID, VCB, CTG, TCB, VPB, MBB, ACB, LPB, VIB, SSB, HDB, STB, TPB, SHB, OCB, EIB, BVB...

Similarly, the group of securities stocks also performed negatively, with a decrease of 1.01%, mainly coming from codes SSI, VND, HCM, MBS, VIX, SHS, BSI, CTS, VDS, ORS, AGR, BVS, APG, VFS, AAS, OGC, TVB, TCI... Some codes increased including VCI, FTS, TVS...

Energy stocks also had negative transactions, with a decrease of 1.12%, mainly coming from codes BSR, PVS, PVD, PVC, PVB, TVD, AAH, NBC...

On the contrary, the group of raw material stocks improved this session, with an increase of 1.64%, mainly coming from codes HGP, GVR, DGC, DCM, VGC, DPM, HSG, BMP, VCS, PHR, NTP, NKG, PTB, CSV, DPR, GDA, TDP... The decline included codes KSV, ACG, AAA, RTB, DHB, DHC...

The group of information technology stocks also had a strong increase of 2.09%, mainly coming from codes FPT, CMG...

Real estate stocks were mixed, with a slight increase of 0.24%, mainly from VHM, BCM, VRE, KBC, IDC, SIP, HDG, SZN, KSF, SZC, IJC... Declining stocks included VIC, KDH, NVL PDR, NLG, DIG, DXG, TCH, CEO, SJS...

* The Vietnamese stock market index was in red for most of the trading session today, VNXALL-Index closed down 7.03 points (-0.34%), down to 2,069.09 points. Liquidity with a trading volume of more than 778.06 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 20,027.63 billion. In the whole market, there were 183 stocks increasing in price, 100 stocks remaining unchanged and 185 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 226.86 points, down 0.02 points (-0.01%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 56.53 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND1,015.45 billion. In the whole market, 84 stocks increased in price, 65 stocks remained unchanged and 67 stocks decreased in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 1.00 points (-0.20%) at 487.57 points. Trading volume reached over 29.33 million units, equivalent to over VND678.34 billion. In the whole market, there were 12 stocks increasing in price, 3 stocks remaining unchanged and 15 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 92.40 points, up 0.25 points (+0.27%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 33.62 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 525.53 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 141 stocks increasing in price, 116 stocks remaining unchanged and 88 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 2.24 points (-0.18%) to 1,250.32 points. Liquidity reached over 796.47 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND19,616.78 billion. The entire floor had 162 stocks increasing, 69 stocks remaining unchanged and 210 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index decreased by 6.88 points (-0.52%) to 1,310.46 points. Liquidity reached more than 353.11 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND10,537.51. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 10 stocks increasing, 1 stock remaining unchanged and 19 stocks decreasing.

The 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are HPG (over 40.87 million units), STB (over 32.89 million units), TPB (over 30.69 million units), VPB (over 28.12 million units), DXG (over 21.19 million units).

The 5 stocks with the highest price increase were HU1 (+6.94%), TRC (+6.90%), CMG (+6.89%), VOS (+6.78%), ICT (+6.72%).

The 5 stocks with the biggest price decrease were SFC (-6.96%), HRC (-6.90%), TIX (-6.89%), CTF (-6.88%), CVT (-6.04%).
