Candidates taking the specialized competency assessment exam at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education this year

On the afternoon of July 10, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the benchmark scores for early admission to full-time university and college programs in preschool education in 2024.

Specifically, early admission methods include: Priority admission and admission of candidates who are specialized class students; admission using high school study results and admission methods using high school study results combined with specialized competency assessment exams.

Accordingly, the direct admission method follows the criteria of the Ministry of Education and Training. Look up the list of qualified candidates at: xettuyen.hcmue.edu.vn.

The admission method uses high school academic results, the admission score is the average score of 3 subjects in 6 semesters in high school (corresponding to the subject combination for admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results) plus priority points (if any).

In this method, the highest standard score for chemistry education is 29.81 (meaning candidates must score over 9.9 points per subject to be admitted).

Admission scores for each major are as follows:

The admission method uses high school academic results combined with specialized competency assessment exams, the admission score is determined based on the scores of 3 subjects. In which, the main subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2, which is the score of the specialized competency assessment exam (converted to a 10-point scale). The scores of the remaining 2 subjects are the average scores of 6 high school semesters of each subject. This total score is converted to a 30-point scale and added with priority points for subjects and regions according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, rounded to two decimal places.

The main subject scores are taken from the results of the specialized competency assessment test organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in 2023, 2024 or Hanoi University of Education in 2024.

Commenting on the benchmark scores for early admission methods this year, Master Le Phan Quoc, Deputy Head of the School's Training Department, said: "Basically, this year's scores have increased slightly compared to last year. In particular, the major with the highest benchmark score is still chemistry pedagogy."

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education notes that candidates will be officially recognized as admitted when they meet the following conditions: Recognized as graduating from high school in 2024; Have an admission score of at least the admission score for each major and method; Have registered their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's Admissions Portal or on the National Public Service Portal from July 18 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30 and have their names on the official admission list.
