"Forgotten Things in the Corner" is the brainchild on Instagram of Nguyen Thi Thu Nguyen (20 years old), currently a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
From Instagram to books
Sharing about the opportunity to create the Instagram channel, Thu Nguyen said that writing brings joy to herself:
"After the university entrance exam, this was the epidemic period so I couldn't go to school. In order not to waste time, I started looking for jobs that could be put on my CV later.
Surfing social networks a lot, I see people often mention building personal brands . After researching, I chose Instagram because of the "static" nature of this social network to share and write about my own experiences.
Starting to write after taking the university entrance exam, Thu Nguyen herself is still "obsessed" with 12th grade literary works.
Because she loves a line in the work "A Phu's Wife" by writer To Hoai : "Mi retreats like a turtle raised in the corner of the door", Nguyen decided to use the word "in the corner" as part of the name of her Instagram channel.
Thinking more later, Nguyen expressed " In the Corner " as the dark things inside people, where people throw negative things, unresolved problems and let them linger.
"I want to find dark corners to confide, comfort and soothe both myself and young people who are carrying many wounds in their hearts. I write about forgotten things, for me, those are wounds that have not been healed," Nguyen confided.

In "Things Left Behind in the Corner", the Gen Z girl tells stories and experiences she has been through, writing down everything she wants to say, instead of looking for perfection.
Talking about what he hopes readers will receive when they visit his Instagram channel, Nguyen confided:
"I hope that in each story, my followers will find a lot of love, a lot of tenderness to embrace you through the stormy days. Just remember, no matter who you are, no matter what you do, don't lose your love for life, for all creatures, all things and for yourself."
Recently, around the beginning of October, Nguyen published his first book titled "Things left behind in the corner".
In this book, Nguyen is not looking for perfection, Nguyen sees this as a means for you to continue on your journey of spreading positivity.
In order to write the book, she hesitated and feared that she did not have enough experience, but the Gen Z girl told herself: "Even though my experience is not big enough, it can be necessary advice for those younger than me."

Give away your hair
Around February this year, Nguyen shaved his head, cutting off his parents' favorite hair to donate to cancer patients .
Talking about this not-so-easy decision, Nguyen recalled: "Around September 2022, I started to learn about programs like donating hair to cancer patients.
I personally like to have short hair, but when I saw this information, I decided to grow it long to donate it."
Nguyen added that her parents knew about her decision to donate her hair but did not know about shaving her head. Her friends did not support her much because they were afraid that she would be affected mentally by attacks on her appearance...
When seeing their daughter in a new person, Nguyen's parents still fully supported her even though they used to love her long hair.
Mr. Nguyen Huynh Minh Phuc - lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Thu Nguyen's academic advisor - said that Thu Nguyen has good academic and training achievements.
He commented: "It is a matter of pride that Thu Nguyen owns an Instagram channel with content spreading positive things. You know how to apply your passion for writing to convey positive messages to society.
Nowadays, the number of young people facing difficulties and problems with mental health is increasing, this is a channel where Thu Nguyen can spread humanistic values".
