SAIGONBANK shareholders elect new board of directors

(NLDO) – Among the 8 candidates, shareholders unanimously voted for 7 people to be elected to the SAIGONBANK Board of Directors for the 2024-2029 term.

After the 2019-2024 board of directors' term ended, on November 1, Saigon Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (SAIGONBANK) held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to elect a new board of directors for the 2024-2029 term.

Previously, SAIGONBANK nominated a list of 8 candidates for the Board of Directors, including 2 independent members of the Board of Directors according to the new regulations of the Law on Credit Institutions 2024. At the same time, this list was approved by the State Bank.

At the extraordinary shareholders' meeting, shareholders unanimously elected 7 members of the Board of Directors for the 2024-2029 term, including 2 independent members: Ms. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Advisory and Policy Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy - Retired Officer.

The remaining 5 members of the board of directors include Mr. Vu Quang Lam - current Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Tran Thanh Giang - General Director of SAIGONBANK, Mr. Pham Hoai Nam - Head of Planning Department of SAIGONBANK Headquarters, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long - Director of Ho Chi Minh City One Member Co., Ltd., Can Tho Branch, and Ms. Ton Nu Nhat Giang - independent member of the board of directors of Ben Tre Import Export Joint Stock Company.

In addition, SAIGONBANK shareholders also elected 5 out of 6 candidates to be elected as members of the new Board of Supervisors for the 2024-2029 term.

As soon as the SAIGONBANK extraordinary shareholders' meeting ended, the new members of the board of directors met and elected Mr. Vu Quang Lam to hold the position of Chairman of the SAIGONBANK board of directors for the 2024-2029 term.
