Nam Dinh Club says goodbye to former U23 Brazil striker

Nam Dinh FC replaced striker Douglas Coutinho with center back Lucas Alves de Araujo in the match registration list on the VPF homepage. The Thien Truong team still retains two foreign players in the attack line, Hendrio and Rafaelson.

Previously, Nam Dinh announced the successful recruitment of Lucas Alves de Araujo on February 7 but has not announced which foreign player will be parting ways to make room for this central defender. According to the plan, Lucas Alves de Araujo will debut for Nam Dinh in the match against Hanoi FC on February 28.

Douglas Coutinho was one of the most expensive and notable rookies before the 2023/2024 V-League. This striker was called up to the U23 Brazil team and played for many teams such as Atletico Paranaense, Cruzeiro (Brazil), Sporting Braga (Portugal).

However, Douglas Coutinho did not shine as expected when he had 1 goal and 2 assists for Nam Dinh after 10 matches. In addition, the team from Thanh Nam also needs to strengthen foreign central defenders to fill the weak defense in phase 2 of V-League 2023/2024.
