On the afternoon of October 24, at Hung Thinh Phat Cooperative (Cho Gao district), the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang province coordinated with Fado iExport Joint Stock Company to organize the departure ceremony of the first truck transporting fresh Tien Giang coconuts for export to China.
Speaking here, Mr. Pham Van Trong - Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the departure ceremony of the first truck transporting fresh Tien Giang coconuts for export to China is an important event.
This not only marks a new step forward in the agricultural sector but also contributes to increasing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.
“The official export of fresh coconuts to China is the result of a long-term negotiation effort by professional agencies of Vietnam and China. This is the persistent support of coconut growers and coconut exporting enterprises of Vietnam in general and Tien Giang enterprises in particular,” said Mr. Trong.
Tien Giang has a large coconut growing area in the Mekong Delta region with more than 21,650 hectares and is constantly expanding. In recent years, the province has had many preferential mechanisms and new ways to help promote coconut growing and processing activities in the province.
In the coming years, the province will continue to provide policy support to replicate good and effective models to promote the local coconut industry, helping farmers increase their income.
Up to now, Vietnam has had a number of agricultural products officially exported to the Chinese market, including: durian, bird's nest, sweet potato, dragon fruit, longan, rambutan, mango, jackfruit, watermelon, banana, black jelly, mangosteen, lychee, passion fruit and coconut.
