Ich Hau (Loc Ha, Ha Tinh) is a small land but has a long history, like a "magnetic field" that produces many excellent children who bring glory to the homeland, including the children of the Tran Quoc family.
Famous heroic homeland
A corner of Ich Hau commune today.
Before 2007, Ich Hau Commune belonged to Can Loc District, now it belongs to Loc Ha District. This is a land with the sacred atmosphere of mountains and rivers, which has produced many famous revolutionaries and cultural figures such as: Nguyen Hang Chi - the most outstanding leader in the anti-tax movement in Mau Than year (1908) in Ha Tinh; Nguyen Dong Chi - one of the leading folklorists of the country in the 20th century; Nguyen Tu Chi - Vietnam's leading ethnologist; Le Viet Luong - Vietnamese revolutionary and politician, Governor of the State Bank after the 1954 revolution, one of the first teachers of the banking sector; Tran Quoc Thai - former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe Tinh Province, former Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, former special envoy of the Central Party Secretariat; Colonel Nguyen Duc Hung (aka Tu Chu) - Hero of the Armed Forces, the once-famous Commander of the Saigon Special Forces; Colonel Le Xi - Hero of the Armed Forces, Political Commissar of Corps 559; Tran Dinh Dan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Office, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province...

Since the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded (February 3, 1930), many children of the homeland have followed the revolution and made great contributions during the 1930-1931 revolutionary period, the pre-uprising period, the August Revolution, and the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism. During the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement in 1930-1931, 8 villages in the commune established secret Communist Party cells. The whole commune has 7 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 33 veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-uprising cadres, 7 martyrs of the 1930-1931 period, 114 martyrs, 101 wounded and sick soldiers, and more than 1,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution...
Thuong Tru ferry - the place marking the birth of the Provincial Party Committee 94 years ago.
Ich Hau is also the place where the party organization was born early and operated quite strongly. From 1927, the Hong Kinh party cell was born; by early 1930, the party cell was developed and established the Cai Luong Party Cell (now the Beijing Party Cell). That was also the premise for the establishment of the Ba Xa Commune Committee (the old name of the Ich Hau Commune Party Cell) in September 1930. Notably, the Cai Luong Party Cell was one of the earliest Party cells under the Indochina Communist Federation (1 of the 2 party organizations that merged into the provisional Party Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Ha Tinh Province in March 1930). Members of the Cai Luong Party Cell attended the conference at Ben Do Thuong Tru - the place that marked the establishment of the Provincial Party Committee 94 years ago.
Teachers and students of Nguyen Dong Chi High School visited and learned about the cultural and historical values of Ca Temple.
In addition, there are 9 historical and cultural relics in the area ranked at provincial and national levels. Among them, the Ca Temple - a place to worship the god Tam Lang Long Vuong with sacred relics, this is also the secret meeting place of the party organization in the lower Can region during the period of 1930 - 1931, recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1992. The temple worships Nguyen Van Giai, who once held the position of Prime Minister during the Le - Trinh period, where the stone stele and the longest silk seal in Vietnam are preserved. In addition, the Nguyen Duc Luc Chi family temple, Con Khai temple and Tran Quoc family temple are also typical relics.
Once a poor, low-lying rural area, with a tradition of revolution and studiousness, Ich Hau has nurtured many talented people of the country and has constantly strived to build today's life. During the period of innovation and integration, Ich Hau commune has made many contributions and achieved many achievements, was recognized as a Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in 2004; achieved the standard of a new rural commune in 2015 and is striving to build a model new rural commune by 2025.
Forever the revolutionary family
It seems that the revolutionary homeland tradition of Ich Hau has become a source of nourishment and nurturing of ambitious and talented people for Vietnam, including the Tran Quoc family - a large family in Bac Kinh village.
Beijing village - the land that houses the Tran Quoc family - is the cradle of the revolutionary movement, establishing and developing the Party organization very early.
The Tran Quoc family in Bac Kinh village originated from the Tran Kinh ancestor who originated in Dong Trieu district (Quang Ninh). At the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century, the first ancestor Tran Quoc So, the 27th generation, migrated to Bac Kinh village to build a career and formed the Tran Quoc family. Following the footsteps of their ancestors, in every generation the family has had children who have made worthy contributions to the history of the country.
Mr. Tran Quoc Chan - the 30th generation descendant, is the ancestor of the Tran Quoc family, who was appointed by the Le Trung Hung dynasty to hold the position of Thi Tuong Thi Lang of Hoang Long Palace. Mr. Tran Quoc Lieu (the eldest son of the ancestor Tran Quoc Chan) was a talented general who helped King Quang Trung defeat 290,000 invading Qing troops at the end of the 18th century and was appointed to the position of Dien Tien Chi Huy Su Ho Quan.
From the two resistance wars to the period of nation building, the Tran Quoc family had 16 children who made Ha Tinh history famous, becoming shining examples for descendants to follow.
Up to now, the Tran family in Bac Kinh village has gone through more than 230 years with 10 generations of descendants settling in this land. Accompanying the ups and downs of the nation's history, generations of descendants of the Tran Quoc family have made many contributions to their homeland and country. From the two resistance wars to the period of national construction, the Tran Quoc family has had 16 children who have made Ha Tinh's history famous, becoming shining examples for future generations to follow.
Many people during the resistance were captured and imprisoned by the enemy but remained loyal to the Party and the revolution, and were awarded noble titles by the Party and the State, such as: Mr. Tran Quoc Chau, who was a member of the Provincial Party Committee and the first Secretary of the Can Loc District Party Committee in 1930 - 1931; Mr. Tran Quoc Kinh, Secretary - Chairman of the Can Loc District People's Committee (1964 - 1978), who together with the army and people of the whole country created the legendary miracle of Dong Loc T-junction; Mr. Tran Quoc Tiem was a member of the Tan Viet Party since 1927; Mr. Tran Quoc Ninh and Tran Quoc Nhu were veteran revolutionary party members...
Notably, in a family, three people were awarded the Independence Medal, namely martyr Tran Quoc Nhu (older brother), Mr. Tran Quoc Thai (younger brother) and Mr. Tran Dinh Dan (nephew).
Not only that, Beijing - the place that houses the Tran Quoc family - is the cradle of the revolutionary movement, establishing and developing the Party organization very early.
Tran Quoc Ancestral Temple was recognized as a historical and cultural relic in 2018.
Mr. Dang Quang Bac - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ich Hau commune said: “Beijing is a small village but has many veteran revolutionary cadres. This is also special because it is the place where 2 party members admitted at the Party cell have become Provincial Party Secretaries. It is precious that comrade Tran Quoc Thai, from a youth union cell secretary, village party cell secretary, after many contributions and efforts, became the first Provincial Party Secretary of Ha Tinh during the re-establishment of the province, a special envoy of the Central Secretariat... As a cadre who was trained and matured from the grassroots, all of comrade Thai's thoughts and actions during his work were always associated with the people, understood the people, and were close to the people. That is also a great lesson in cadre work that our generation always learns and follows. Until now, the people of Ich Hau still remember him as someone who played an important role in reclaiming land, building dikes to prevent salinity and preserve freshwater, helping people dig wells so the whole village could have clean water, launching a movement to make green manure to fertilize fields, and eliminating illiteracy... The image of a 75-year Party member of Comrade Thai is forever a shining example for Party members to learn from."

Sharing about the leader of the province in the newly re-established period, writer Duc Ban confided: “Mr. Tran Quoc Thai has compassion, compassion, tolerance, hard work, diligence, and struggles with the movement... That is achieved not only thanks to personal qualities but also thanks to the tolerance and protection of the cultural tradition of the community. It can be said that Mr. Thai and the Tran Quoc family in particular, and the people of Ich Hau in general, are in the cultural magnetic field of the revolutionary homeland. The poverty of that homeland has nurtured and cultivated the character of the people.”
Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Nguyen Thanh Binh and members of the Standing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee and Ha Tinh City Party Committee congratulated comrade Tran Quoc Thai on receiving the 75-year Party membership badge.
Not only the children of the Tran Quoc family, but also each child of the homeland of Ich Hau is still constantly striving to cultivate traditions and contribute to building the homeland. Proud of the homeland of many talented people, Ich Hau has been rising from the lowland, rising strongly on the journey of building a model new rural commune, building a strong Party and political system. The "cultural magnetic field" of the homeland with its rich cultural and historical traditions is still shining brighter and brighter, serving as a driving force and foundation for future generations to continue writing the heroic history of their predecessors.
