On October 27, heavy rains caused by storm No. 6 caused floodwaters to rise and overflow the Thong Nhat railway line in Quang Tri province. To ensure train safety, railway units blocked the Sa Lung - Tien An section and organized passenger transfers from Dong Ha station (Quang Binh) to Dong Hoi station (Quang Binh) and vice versa.
On the morning of October 28, after the water receded, rocks were washed away, the roadbed was eroded, and rails were moved in the section Km 587+800 - Km 588+000, Km 588+500 - Km 588+900 in the Sa Lung bridge area (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province).
