Since its inception, the program has received strong support from central agencies such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Propaganda Department, the Vietnam Fisheries Association, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and maritime law enforcement agencies. In particular, the program has received a lot of support, solidarity, and cooperation from the business community and colleagues across the country.

After more than 6 months of launching, the Program has been organized in 7 coastal provinces of the country including: Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan, Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Bac Lieu, Quang Binh and today is Ben Tre province.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Canh, Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, also stated that "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" is a meaningful and practical activity that contributes to improving the effectiveness of propaganda, support, assistance, and protection activities for fishermen to feel secure in exploiting the seas, promoting the role and presence of fishermen in each sea area. Each ship going out to sea is a "sovereignty landmark", each fisherman is a "border soldier" at sea, contributing with the army and people of the whole country to protect the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

"In recent times, thanks to the focus and determination of the entire political system, the participation of sectors, levels and localities, especially propaganda, the awareness of law compliance in fishing has been increasingly raised. All vessels participating in offshore fishing have installed voyage monitoring equipment, docking and leaving ports have been well implemented, ensuring full procedures when fishing such as registration papers, inspections, fishing licenses, and logging have become a regular practice for fishermen. This is the result that helps the province basically complete the tasks of combating IUU fishing as planned, with the spirit of being ready to work with the whole country to remove the EC yellow card as soon as possible", the Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee added.

Within the framework of the program, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Honorary Chairman of the program, and the Organizing Committee visited and presented gifts to three typical fishing families in Tiem Tom town (Ba Tri district), listened to the fishing families discuss livelihood issues and commended the fishermen for complying with regulations on seafood fishing.

Next, at the Ham Luong Border Guard Station Hall (Tiem Tom town), the Organizing Committee presented 200 gifts, each worth more than 4 million VND, to 200 fishing households in Ben Tre province. In addition, the program awarded 25 scholarships to children of fishermen with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties and studied well.

Through specific and practical activities, the organizers hope to effectively contribute to raising fishermen’s awareness of law compliance when fishing at sea. Thereby, together with the Government, ministries, agencies, units and localities, urgently remove the yellow card for Vietnamese seafood according to the Action Plan issued by the Prime Minister. At the same time, the program also hopes to become a bridge for the social community to join hands to support fishermen to confidently stick to the sea, affirm and preserve the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
