Stocks reversed to increase at the end of the session.

The HoSE index fluctuated as soon as it opened. Liquidity was thin, buyers and sellers took turns placing orders, causing the market to fluctuate continuously around the reference price. By the end of the morning, the total transaction value was only equivalent to two-thirds of the same period last session.

VN-Index was dyed red before the lunch break when selling pressure gradually overwhelmed. The market had a more negative performance in the afternoon. Sell orders were placed continuously, focusing on pillar stocks, causing the index to drop sharply, at times falling close to 1,256 points - down more than 12 points.

However, before entering the ATC session, the HoSE representative index suddenly reversed direction. Bottom-fishing demand around the 1,260-point area helped the market return to green. The VN-Index closed at 1,274.4 points, up nearly 6 points compared to yesterday.

There were 285 stocks increasing in price on the entire floor, much more than 158 stocks falling. Positively supporting the index were PLX, BID, CTG, MWG, MBB, GVR. If looking at the industry, oil and gas, retail and chemicals had the best performance today. On the other hand, FPT and HVN stocks led the pressure group.

Among the cash flow-attracting groups, the securities and real estate sectors performed quite well. Most of the stocks with liquidity of hundreds of billions in these two sectors increased in price, notably VIX, MBS, TCH, VRE and especially HDG, which accumulated up to 5%.

Because bottom-fishing demand only appeared at the end of the session, liquidity in the Ho Chi Minh City market today remained low. Total transaction value reached more than 19,100 billion VND, down 10,200 billion compared to the previous session.

The improved sentiment in stock trading may come from foreign investors maintaining their stock buying momentum for the second consecutive session. Today, foreign investors net bought about VND975 billion, up nearly 86% compared to yesterday. HDB, STB, ACV, SAB, MWG and SCS were the stocks with net buying of over 100 billion, respectively.

According to Vietcombank Securities (VCBS), the market showed signs of recovery in the afternoon session, showing that investors are beginning to accept disbursement at the current price range. This analysis group continues to recommend restructuring the portfolio by eliminating stocks that have not yet ended the correction trend. If investors have short-term goals, they should only disburse with a moderate proportion to better manage risks.
