Preparing OCOP products to serve the year-end market

After overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 and restoring stable production, the province's OCOP units and enterprises have immediately started production activities, ensuring the quantity and quality of products to serve the year-end market. At the same time, many new products are also in the plan to be launched on the market, ensuring the supply of goods for Tet.

Quang Ninh OCOP products are always chosen by a large number of consumers.

Currently, the whole province has over 400 OCOP products recognized with 3-5 stars. Most of them are agricultural products and processed foods. These are all suitable items for gifts and consumption at the end of the year. Therefore, this is the time for entities to boost production, change designs to meet tastes and attract customers and consumers.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Ha, Director of Viet Hung Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Cooperative, said: On the occasion of this year's Tet, in addition to the unit's traditional OCOP products, we will strive to bring to the market a new product, Dong Son Upland Rice, including sticky rice and regular rice, grown completely organically by local people, contributing new high-quality agricultural products to the market.

The end of the year is always a time when consumer demand increases, especially for food and foodstuffs. If there is no preparation in advance, it will easily lead to price increases at the end of the year due to increased input material prices. As one of the province's 4-star OCOP products, although it is only the first half of November, the squid sausage product of Manh Ha 86 seafood facility, Ha Long city, has begun to receive large orders for the end of the year. Notably, these orders come not only from within the province but also from other provinces. Accordingly, from this time, the unit has had to proactively prepare a large amount of raw materials and human resources to ensure production.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hai, owner of Manh Ha 86 seafood facility, shared: We always try our best to ensure the quality of each product, therefore, in the year-end production season, we must proactively prepare all stages early to ensure the production plan and orders with the highest quality when brought to the market.

From this moment on, Manh Ha 86 seafood facility had to prepare raw materials in advance.

Not only increasing production scale at the end of the year, to attract customers and promote consumption, many OCOP product manufacturing facilities have focused on developing product designs to attract customers. At the same time, proactively implementing marketing and promoting products through many channels to expand the consumer market.

By the end of the third quarter, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in Quang Ninh is estimated to increase by 12.97% over the same period. The fact that units proactively plan to produce goods early for the end of the year will also contribute to ensuring the supply of goods, stabilizing the market, and preventing hoarding and price hikes at the end of the year. Along with that, to support people in promoting product consumption, from now until the end of the year, the Quang Ninh Industry and Trade sector will also have many activities, notably product introduction weeks that are continuously organized.

Mr. Nguyen Kien, Director of the Quang Ninh Center for Promotion and Development of Industry and Trade, said: We will implement a series of trade promotion programs from now until the end of the year. Specifically, such as promotion weeks in densely populated localities; the OCOP Autumn-Winter Fair in Mong Cai associated with the Dongxing Trade and Trade Week, China, to create conditions for businesses from both sides to exchange and expand the market.

With the initiative from the subjects, the province's OCOP products are ready to serve the consumer market's needs at the end of the year and during Tet. At the same time, it helps customers have more opportunities to choose OCOP products with rich and diverse designs, meeting the needs and tastes of customers.
