Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and worked in Ham Tan district

On June 9, Comrade Doan Anh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and worked in Ham Tan district. Joining the delegation were leaders of relevant departments and units. On the local side, attending the working session were Comrade Nguyen Tan Le - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, together with the collective leadership of the District People's Committee, representatives of functional departments in Ham Tan.

At the meeting, the leaders of the District People's Committee briefly reported on the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation in the first 6 months of 2023 in Ham Tan. In the first half of this year, the local government has organized the implementation of socio-economic development tasks to adapt to the new situation. Therefore, the district's socio-economy is generally stable, agricultural production and industry - handicrafts in Ham Tan continue to be maintained and grown.

In addition, the management of the market, land, minerals, forest protection, environment, prevention of livestock diseases and dangerous diseases are given increased attention. While the quality of education and training is maintained, cultural and information activities, physical education and sports, and visual propaganda activities continue to be promoted. At the same time, political security and social order and safety are maintained, medical examination and treatment basically meet the needs of the people and promptly care for policy beneficiaries and the poor, etc.

However, in the first 6 months of 2023, Ham Tan also encountered some difficulties and limitations such as: Budget collection achieved low results compared to the same period, industrial cluster infrastructure investment projects were still slow. Or many tourism projects have not been implemented, new rural construction is still difficult, especially capital sources to maintain and upgrade standards according to the set of criteria for the period 2021 - 2025. Administrative violations in the field of land and illegal mining, trading, transportation, and storage of minerals still occur, waste collection and treatment have not met requirements... Therefore, in the coming time, the locality will focus on synchronously implementing solutions to strive to complete the socio-economic development targets and tasks of the district in 2023, at the same time reviewing, coordinating to remove difficulties, obstacles and overcome some shortcomings in the past time.

On this occasion, the locality also requested the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and units to support Ham Tan district in terms of mechanisms to increase the proportion of public investment capital to invest in infrastructure. Pay attention to approving the adjustment of the General Planning of the Tan Thang - Thang Hai coastal area, investing in expanding the water supply system, supporting funding for dredging estuaries, urging to speed up the construction of industrial park infrastructure, recommending competent authorities to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A and National Highway 55 through the district... Through the situation report and recommendations mentioned by the Ham Tan District People's Committee, leaders of functional departments and branches discussed, gave comments and proposed appropriate solutions to support and meet the aspirations of the locality.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung said that in the context of general difficulties, Ham Tan achieved the above results, demonstrating the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of the district. However, the provincial leaders also noted some limitations and shortcomings and requested the locality to focus on carefully analyzing the causes, clearly identifying responsibilities, and proposing timely solutions. Along with that, Ham Tan was required to strengthen dissemination, take advantage of opportunities and focus on maximizing the potential and advantages of the locality to develop more strongly, especially in the fields of industry, tourism, agriculture, etc.

The provincial leaders also requested Ham Tan to promote budget collection, strive to disburse all public investment capital plans in 2023, continue to review and simplify administrative procedures, and do a good job of state management in all fields... Regarding the district's recommendations, the leaders of relevant departments, branches and units have discussed and proposed specific answers. The remaining contents are assigned to the Provincial People's Committee Office to synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution.

During the working trip, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee previously visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Duong Thi Thanh and visited the Song Dinh 3 Lake project and Tan Xuan Water Plant in Ham Tan area.
