On the afternoon of January 29, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received the Ambassadors of Poland, Spain, and Bangladesh presenting their credentials; and received the Ambassador of Mozambique bidding farewell at the end of his term.

Receiving Polish Ambassador Aleksander Surdej who has just been appointed to Vietnam, the President expressed his belief that the Ambassador will make positive contributions to promoting the relations between the two countries, especially on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950-2025). The President emphasized that the Vietnamese people always appreciate the valuable support and assistance that the Polish people have given to Vietnam during the years of fighting for independence and national reunification as well as in the current construction and development process.
Thanking the President for taking the time to receive him, the Polish Ambassador expressed his honor to take up the assignment in Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations; he said that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large and wished to promote high-level and all-level contacts, thereby contributing to strengthening political trust.
The two countries have many similarities in history as well as in their current approaches to socio-economic development. The Polish Ambassador hopes that the two sides will promote cooperation in economics, public policy, labor, and the latest areas of cooperation are science and geology. Along with that is cooperation in culture, art, especially music. The Ambassador expressed his impression that there are many young and talented Vietnamese pianists participating in competitions in Poland. In the past, many Vietnamese people went to study in Poland, and Poland wants to continue this tradition. Currently, Poland has a very active Vietnamese community living, studying, working, and contributing to the development of Poland.
On this occasion, the Ambassador sent an invitation from the President of Poland; looking forward to welcoming President Vo Van Thuong to visit Poland soon.
Agreeing with the Polish Ambassador on the contents of strengthening bilateral relations, President Vo Van Thuong hoped that the Ambassador would promote contacts and exchanges of delegations at high and all levels; and step up the implementation of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms. Delighted with the strong development of bilateral economic and trade relations, the President suggested that the two countries promote cooperation in the fields of education and training, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchange; thereby expanding to other areas of cooperation.
Recalling the poem “Oh, Ba Lan, when the snow melts” by poet To Huu, the President said that the Vietnamese people always have good feelings for the country and people of Poland; he hopes that more and more Vietnamese people will visit, study and work in Poland and more Polish people will visit Vietnam to have a deeper understanding of the country, culture and people of Vietnam.

Receiving Spanish Ambassador Carmen Cano De Lasala, the President was pleased to note that after 15 years of establishing the Strategic Partnership towards the future, bilateral cooperation has achieved positive results in all areas: politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, culture, education, and people-to-people exchange.
The President suggested that the two countries strengthen political and diplomatic trust and promote high-level visits. Through the Ambassador, the President invited the King of Spain to visit Vietnam soon.
The President said that if cooperation mechanisms such as the Vietnam-European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Vietnam-European Union Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) are well utilized, bilateral trade turnover will increase in the coming time. Many Vietnamese agencies and enterprises have come to study and learn about technology, infrastructure, and transportation - which are Spain's strengths.
The President suggested that the two sides continue to promote cooperation in education and training, science and technology, culture, sports, and people-to-people exchange. Vietnamese people love football, including Spanish football. The President said that this contributes to promoting people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
The Spanish Ambassador said that the two countries are in a very favorable period to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in 2024, when the two countries celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the "Strategic Partnership towards the Future". Spain is the first country in the EU to establish a Strategic Partnership with Vietnam, showing that Spain values and believes in the potential for cooperation with Vietnam, especially in science and technology. In addition, cooperation in tourism and culture between the two countries is increasingly strong, Spain wishes to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and welcome Vietnamese people to visit, study and work in Spain.

President Vo Van Thuong with Bangladeshi Ambassador Mohammad Lutfor Rahman
Receiving Bangladeshi Ambassador Mohammad Lutfor Rahman, President Vo Van Thuong thanked the Ambassador for his affection for the country and people of Vietnam and emphasized that Vietnam and Bangladesh have a multifaceted friendly and cooperative relationship, with many similarities in the struggle for national liberation and nation building.
Through the Ambassador, the President sent an invitation and looked forward to welcoming the President of Bangladesh to Vietnam soon. The President highly appreciated and suggested that the authorities of the two countries increase exchanges and support each other for mutual development because the economies of the two countries have many similarities. Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge for Bangladesh to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN and hopes that Bangladesh will support ASEAN's common stance on regional and international issues.
The Ambassador of Bangladesh expressed his joy at taking up his post in Vietnam, a country in which he has great affection and has worked very successfully. The Ambassador hoped that the two countries would share experiences for mutual development. Bangladesh wished to further promote cooperation with Vietnam in the field of agriculture, especially when the two sides had a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in this field. Along with that is cooperation in the fields of education; information and communication; cyber security; cooperation in opening direct flights to enhance people-to-people exchanges.
On this occasion, the Ambassador sent greetings and invitation from the President of Bangladesh to President Vo Van Thuong to visit Bangladesh soon.

President Vo Van Thuong receives Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique Leonardo Manuel Pene
Later this afternoon, President Vo Van Thuong received Mozambique Ambassador Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene to bid farewell at the end of his term. The President congratulated the Ambassador on his successful term and his important contributions to the achievements in the relationship between the two countries.
Wishing for the Vietnam-Mozambique relationship to develop strongly in all fields in the coming time, the President suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen political trust, creating a foundation to promote other fields. Through the Ambassador, the President invited the President of Mozambique to visit Vietnam soon. The President suggested that the competent agencies of the two countries promote cooperation and work, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment. The President thanked and suggested that Mozambique continue to support Vietnamese enterprises investing in the country. The two sides need to implement measures to promote cooperation in the fields of culture, education, technology and people-to-people exchange.
The Ambassador of Mozambique sincerely thanked the President for taking the time to meet him and said that after working in Vietnam, he had become deeply attached to and had deep affection for the country and people of Vietnam. The Ambassador sincerely thanked the President and the Vietnamese authorities for supporting the Ambassador to complete his mission, thereby contributing to promoting cooperation between the two countries in many fields. In the future, no matter what mission he takes on, the Ambassador will always strive to contribute to the Vietnam - Mozambique relationship.
