On the afternoon of November 16, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left the capital Lima, successfully concluding their official visit to the Republic of Peru and participation in the APEC Summit Week.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of November 16 local time, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left the capital Lima, successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Peru and attending the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week at the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte.
Seeing off the delegation at Jorge Chavez International Airport were Minister of Transport and Communications Raul Perez Reyes, several officials from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil and Peru.
Within the framework of the APEC 2024 Summit Week, President Luong Cuong attended and delivered important speeches at the 31st APEC Summit; APEC 2024 Business Summit; Dialogue between APEC Leaders and guests; Attended the lunch session - Dialogue between APEC Leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council.
At the activities within the framework of APEC 2024, the President made many strategic and breakthrough proposals to further promote the role and position of APEC in international economic cooperation and linkage, responding to challenges facing the international community in general and the Asia-Pacific region in particular.

The President's remarks at the APEC Summit Week once again conveyed a strong message about Vietnam entering a new era, an era of national growth, a dynamic, innovative Vietnam and a leading destination for international investors.
President Luong Cuong's speeches received positive response and appreciation from APEC leaders and the business community.
Along with that, the President had a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of APEC economies such as: Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah; South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol; New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon; Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto; and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
The President also met and discussed with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; US President Joe Biden; Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim; Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong; Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese; Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, thereby contributing to strengthening and deepening relations with APEC member economies.
During this time, the President paid an official visit to the Republic of Peru at the invitation of President Dina Boluarte. This was the first official visit of a Vietnamese President to Peru, especially as the two countries celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, creating a historic milestone that contributed to consolidating the foundation of good political relations between the two countries, enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation in potential areas and aiming to bring the relationship to a new level.

President Luong Cuong held talks with President Dina Boluarte; met with President of the Council of Ministers Gustavo Adriazén; President of the National Assembly Eduardo Saljuana; Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Javier Arévalo Vela... At the talks and meetings, Peruvian leaders affirmed their importance in developing friendly relations and cooperation in all aspects with Vietnam; highly appreciated the achievements Vietnam has made in nearly 40 years of Doi Moi and wished that the two countries would increase sharing of good experiences in national governance and implementation of socio-economic development policies; and expressed their belief that the visit would create an important impetus to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new stage of even stronger development.
The President was also awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, the highest award of the Peruvian State; Lima Mayor Rafael Lopez presented the symbolic Key and recognized Lima as the Guest of Honor, thereby showing special respect for the visit, and at the same time showing the respect and affection that the Peruvian State and people have for the President in particular and the Vietnamese people in general.
President Luong Cuong's participation in the APEC 2024 Summit Week and official visit to the Republic of Peru is an important step in implementing Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of diversification, multilateralization, being a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community, creating new impetus to bring the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Peru into a new stage of development that is more dynamic, substantive and effective, while affirming Vietnam's new mindset, increasing role and position in Asia - Pacific and the world./.
