Lighting up the construction of the North-South Expressway through Ha Tinh

At 10:00 p.m. on April 3, at the intersection of Km509+825 of the North-South Expressway with Provincial Road 550 through Luu Vinh Son Commune, Thach Ha District, 20 workers along with the asphalt paving line of Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) were still working hard to construct the asphalt concrete paving of branch N1.

The sounds of machinery, equipment, rollers, and trucks resounded continuously, and the lights of the North-South expressway construction site lit up a corner of the sky in the dark night.

The asphalt concrete pavement construction process was closely monitored by engineer Luong Bang Phi - technical officer of Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) and the consulting and supervising unit.

According to engineer Phi, the time from now until the main route's opening date (April 30) is approaching, the unit must mobilize more human resources, machinery, equipment, and organize many construction teams continuously from 5am to 11pm to meet the requirements.

“Since the beginning of the year, Ha Tinh has had frequent rains, which have greatly affected the construction process. Therefore, taking advantage of the dry weather, the contractor had to mobilize more manpower and machinery, dividing into 3 shifts and 4 teams to make up for the progress,” said engineer Luong Bang Phi.

Major Tran Dinh Ngan - Project Executive Director of Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) said: Along with the construction team at the intersection with Provincial Road 550 through Luu Vinh Son Commune, at this time, at the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway construction site, the unit mobilized 11 other construction teams to simultaneously deploy the work. The construction process is carried out day and night with the goal of striving to open the main expressway route to traffic on April 30 in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Construction.

At this time, the unit's construction volume has reached over 86%, however, there are still many important tasks on the construction site. Therefore, Corporation 319 is focusing on the construction process to complete the items.

According to Major Tran Dinh Ngan, despite the pressure on progress, the contractor always puts construction quality first, especially when constructing asphalt concrete pavement. All construction stages are closely monitored.

To motivate staff, engineers and workers during construction, the contractor always arranges reasonable meal and rest hours and has a full salary and bonus regime.

The North-South Eastern Expressway Project, phase 2021 - 2025, through Ha Tinh, is 102.38km long with 3 component projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung. According to the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Construction, the two expressway sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang strive to open the main route on April 30; the Vung Ang - Bung section will open on September 30.

To ensure the plan, the investor and contractors of the North-South Expressway through Ha Tinh are working day and night, mobilizing more machinery and human resources in 3 shifts, 4 teams, to speed up the project's progress.
