According to Odditycentral, Japanese luxury ice cream brand Cellato has just set a new Guinness World Record for the world's most expensive ice cream by creating a dish worth 880,000 yen (equivalent to 6,700 USD, about 150 million VND) per serving.
Accordingly, Guinness World Records has certified Byakuya, Cellato's new high-protein ice cream, as the world's most expensive. The dish includes a velvety base made from milk, two types of cheese, egg yolks, leeks, and sake.

This luxurious ice cream has a light sweetness, the flavors of the ingredients blend together harmoniously, the texture is smooth and it is packaged in a very luxurious black box.
The ice cream box includes a hand-made metal spoon created by Takeuchi craftsmen in Fushimi, Kyoto, using selected techniques and materials.

Many people believe that the spoon that comes with the box is the reason why the ice cream is so expensive. However, according to Guinness World Records, it is the ingredients that make up the ice cream that make it so expensive.
This luxury ice cream is made with a large amount of premium Italian truffles called "white diamonds", which cost around 350 million VND/kg. These mushrooms grow deep underground, symbiotically with the roots of hardwood trees such as oak and chestnut. White truffles usually grow naturally for up to a decade.

Additionally, the ice cream is topped with white truffles and parmigiano-reggiano shavings, plus gold flakes to make it even more exclusive.
Cellato recommends letting the ice cream soften before eating, until the metal spoon can easily scoop out the smooth ice cream. Users can then mix in the accompanying truffle oil for a richer flavor.
The company also recommends that diners pair Byakuya ice cream with a glass of aged white wine.

One of the most interesting ingredients in the world's most expensive ice cream is sake lees, a leftover from the sake production process known for its fruity flavor and paste-like texture.
If customers can afford to pay VND150 million for a 130ml portion of ice cream, the company recommends eating it within 10 days to fully enjoy the flavor and texture.
