Robotic dogs from the US Secret Service have been deployed to patrol around Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Photos show the robot dog walking around Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, with the words “Do Not Pet” engraved on its paw, the New York Post reported on November 8.
The Secret Service confirmed that the robot dog belongs to the agency. “Protecting the president-elect is a top priority. While we cannot go into specific capabilities, these robot dogs are equipped with surveillance technology and a range of advanced sensors that support protective operations,” a Secret Service spokesperson told the New York Post .

President-elect Donald Trump is working at Mar-a-Lago to finalize his running mate for a second term, following his election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump was the target of two assassination attempts during his campaign, one of which took place while he was golfing in Florida. The Secret Service has been criticized for allowing the suspect who shot Trump to escape. Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned after the assassination attempt on Trump.
Robotic dogs are increasingly being embraced by security agencies across the United States as a frontline tool to help police and emergency responders stay out of harm’s way. Last year, the New York Police Department announced the deployment of a unit of three K-9 robot dogs called “Digidogs.”

The Mar-a-Lago guard dog was made by Boston Dynamics. Other models of robot dogs have been used in the military. Earlier this year, the Ukrainian army deployed 30 robot dogs made by Brit Alliance to support soldiers on the battlefield during the conflict with Russia.
