Honoring Dong Nai literary and artistic works

This activity not only deeply appreciates the creative contributions and dedication of Dong Nai artists over the past half century, but also affirms the important role of literature and arts in preserving and promoting local cultural identity.

50 years of creativity and dedication

People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, Chairman of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association, said that half a century after the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Dong Nai Literature and Arts has continuously grown, witnessing the birth of many excellent works, deeply reflecting the lives and souls of the people and the land of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai. Many outstanding works have gone beyond the local framework, reached the national level and left an impression on the public.

In the field of literature, works such as the short story collection Ben Xuan by writer Ly Van Sam, the novel The 200-year curse by Nguyen Thai Hai, the memoir collection At the foot of Minh Dam mountain by Hoang Kim Chung, the novel Love story in Ham Hinh by Tran Thu Hang, the novella Beloved Islet by Hoang Ngoc Diep; or the poetry collections: Sweet Fruit by Le Dang Khang, Forest Dream by Dam Chu Van, Sending Dong Nai River by Tran Ngoc Tuan... are all imbued with the breath of culture, history, people and land of Dong Nai in particular, and Vietnam in general.

Poet Le Dang Khang said he was very honored and proud to have his work selected to honor the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The poetry collection and epic poem Qua Ngot was composed by him a long time ago, and won the B prize, the 2nd Trinh Hoai Duc Literature and Arts Award, 2000-2005. The work consists of 2 parts, the first part with 39 poems and the epic poem Khuc Trang Ca Cua Fire. In particular, the epic poem tells tragic stories about his own life, about his homeland during the time of bombs and bullets...

In the field of music, songs such as Dong Nai in the season of durian by Tran Viet Binh, Fatherland and soldiers by Cao Hong Son, Dong Nai shining in the country by Nguyen Bon, or Gong vang dem Chien khu D by Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai shining in the future by Tran Tam, Forever the name of the person by Le Hang... not only touch the emotions of listeners but also contribute to portraying a heroic, lyrical Dong Nai - where art goes hand in hand with history and culture.

According to musician Le Hang, Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association in Dong Nai province, the image of Uncle Ho has always been a source of inspiration for her to write songs with all her heart and love for him. Her song "Shine Forever in His Name" which was honored this time won the A prize in the Literature and Arts Composition Contest on studying and following Uncle Ho's example in 2009. This is a recognition of her tireless efforts in the 50-year flow of Vietnamese literature and arts in general, and Dong Nai in particular.

The flow of 50 years of literature and art cannot fail to mention the photographic works that have preserved precious moments of nature, people and the renovation process. Many works have gone beyond national borders, spreading and promoting the image of Dong Nai in the international arena. Some of the works include: From the heart by Bui Viet Dong, Baby drinking vitamins by Pham Quoc Hung, Strange stories with real stories by Tran Van Ky...

Fine arts, theater, cinema, dance, critical theory, folk arts… also have many excellent works created from the breath of life. From symbolic oil paintings, sculptures to touching stage plays, or dances imbued with the breath of ethnic minorities…, all are created and dedicated by artists of the province, contributing to making Dong Nai a rich cultural identity.

People's Artist GIANG MANH HA, Chairman of Dong Nai Culture and Arts Association, said that after the implementation period, the association received 181 works from 79 authors from 9 fields: literature, music, fine arts, photography, theater, cinema, dance, critical theory, folk arts. The selection council evaluated, appraised, unanimously introduced and voted secretly to select 50 typical and excellent works to honor.

Light up memories, spread aspirations

According to People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, the criteria for selecting the honored works are works that have been composed, published, promoted, and effectively served the political tasks of the province since 1975. In addition, the works have won high awards in competitions and were evaluated by the selection council based on the set criteria. This is not only a worthy recognition for the contributions of the province's artists, but it is also a way for Dong Nai to affirm the role of literature and art in preserving historical memories, nurturing souls, and inspiring future generations.

Each work chosen to be honored is a story of the land, of the era, the journey of the artist through hardships to find beauty, truth and love for the homeland. Those honored values ​​not only live forever in the hearts of readers and listeners but also become a valuable cultural and spiritual foundation for the land of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai to firmly step into the future.

People's Artist Giang Manh Ha emphasized: “Half a century is a long enough journey for Dong Nai Literature and Arts to look back on the past with gratitude and pride. In the coming years, towards a vision for the next 50 years, the association will continue to shape a new development strategy. Artists will continue to innovate creative thinking, keeping up with the 4.0 industrial era and the strong development of artificial intelligence (AI). From there, works will be created that touch the hearts of the public, contributing to promoting the image of Dong Nai with rich identity to domestic and international friends.”
