(CLO) According to US media, President Donald Trump said he directed the US Secret Service to provide him with "all information" about two people who tried to assassinate him last summer during the presidential campaign.
“I want to know about the two killers,” the president told the New York Post on Friday. “Why did one have six cell phones, and why did the other have [foreign] apps?”
Mr Trump told the Post that the Secret Service had withheld information because of former President Joe Biden. “I have a right to know. And they’ve kept it a secret long enough,” he added. “There’s no excuse anymore.”

Mr. Trump was shot in the ear on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, while speaking at a campaign rally. The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service after opening fire, killing one rallygoer and wounding two others.
Two months later, Ryan Routh, 59, allegedly waited more than 12 hours with a rifle in the vicinity of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach while Trump was golfing on September 15.

A Secret Service agent saw Routh pointing a rifle over the fence. Routh fled and was arrested later that day. He has since pleaded not guilty to several charges and remains in federal custody.
His trial is scheduled for September 8, 2025. Six cell phones were reportedly found in Routh's car after his arrest.
