Reporter (PV): Sir, what is the main content of the 2024 Summer TNTN Campaign?
Comrade Nguyen Duc Hiep: The 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign takes place in a special context. 2024 is the 25th anniversary of the province's implementation of the Summer Volunteer Campaign and is also the Year of Youth Volunteers. This year, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has identified 5 key contents of the Campaign: Exam Support Program, Green Summer Volunteer Campaign, Red Flamboyant Flower, Pink Vacation and Green March. The Campaign will take place from April to August 2024, with the peak competition period with key activities starting from the end of May 2024.
The key areas are disadvantaged areas, focusing on communes that have registered to "reach the finish line" of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in 2024. Focus on organizing regular volunteer activities, on-site, volunteering by target group, online volunteering; volunteering according to multi-year projects to thoroughly solve problems in an area; building cultural life, model new rural areas with effective youth works and tasks, contributing to turning new rural areas into "Living villages".
According to the plan, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee identified 11 specific targets for this year's Campaign, including: Mobilizing 125,000 youth union members to participate in volunteer activities organized by the Youth Union and Association; planting at least 86,000 new trees; supporting the implementation and realization of 240 ideas and initiatives of youth union members; organizing 2,000 youth and children to participate in activities to support the improvement of foreign language skills and international integration; supporting at least 5,000 disadvantaged children; supporting the improvement of digital skills for at least 80,000 youth and people.
Each district and city youth union builds at least 1 new civilized street (road, alley) with the criteria of "Bright Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe"; 1 charity house, gratitude house, red scarf house for policy families, families of young people in especially difficult circumstances; renovate and repair at least 3km, build 300m of new rural roads.
At the same time, coordinate to organize at least 1 training course on startup knowledge, transfer of scientific and technical advances to 200 young people; support at least 1 creative startup project of young people; provide career and employment counseling for 1,200 union members and young people; introduce jobs to over 300 young people.
PV: Up to now, how has the Campaign been implemented by the Youth Union, Association and youth organizations in the province and what results have been achieved, comrade?
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hiep: On May 31, 2024, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union coordinated with the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Kim Son district to organize the launching ceremony of the 2024 Provincial Summer Youth Campaign, officially launching the Campaign in the whole province.
Up to now, 1/3 of the campaign has passed, the progress of some targets has reached over 50% of the plan, which are the targets of building civilized streets (roads, alleys) "Bright-Green-Clean-Beautiful-Civilized-Safe" and supporting youth and children to participate in activities to support the improvement of foreign language skills and international integration. The remaining targets have all reached over 30% of the plan.
Regarding specific results, typical provincial-level activities are that the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has implemented the construction of the model "Worth living village" according to the criteria for building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in hamlet 11, Kim Dinh commune (Kim Son district). The model includes many youth projects such as: Sports and recreation area for children and people, "Bright-Green-Clean-Beautiful-Civilized-Safe" route, digitizing the provincial-level historical and cultural relic of Tuc Hieu communal house, the mural painting project, the project "Lighting up the countryside road" with a solar energy lighting system...
In the activity "Volunteering to participate in building new rural areas", the youth of the whole province built 5 routes to light up the countryside with solar energy lighting systems; concretized more than 400m2 of the village and hamlet cultural house yard; planted nearly 21,000 trees, implemented the construction of Youth Tree Row models, mural paintings and 4 projects to digitize historical relics; organized 5 science and technology transfer sessions, and trained more than 900 youth union members...
In the activity "Volunteering to participate in building civilized urban areas", 8 "Bright-Green-Clean-Beautiful-Civilized-Safe" roads were inaugurated; over 50 youth volunteer teams were deployed to clean the environment, install public trash cans, remove advertising signs, and promote urban civilization... Typical activities include the activities of Ninh Binh city youth to launch the Lotus Pond model in Ninh Khanh ward.
In the activity "Volunteer social security, gratitude", the whole province organized 3 free medical examinations and medicine distribution sessions for nearly 500 people in difficult circumstances; started construction of 3 Charity Houses, Red Scarf Houses; coordinated to organize 1 voluntary blood donation session with more than 500 union members and youths participating, collecting 438 units of blood; along with activities to visit and give gifts to policy families, people with meritorious services to the revolution...
In the activity "Volunteering to protect the environment, responding to climate change", the highlight is the model of a People's Market to reduce plastic waste, the activity of distributing propaganda leaflets and giving 50 lanes and 100 environmental protection bags to the people of Khanh Duong commune by Yen Mo District Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union of Agencies and Enterprises; the activity of giving 30 trash bins to classify waste in Trung Son ward, Tam Diep city; launching the Campaign Let's clean the sea with the participation of more than 500 union members and young people who collected nearly 5 tons of waste at Con Noi beach (Kim Son district)...
In addition to regular activities according to the established plan, the Youth Union, Association and youth of the whole province are also proactive, enthusiastic and responsible, ready to undertake and complete well the unexpected tasks during the Campaign. A typical example is the implementation of the "30-day peak emulation campaign, volunteering to participate in accelerating the progress and completing the 500 kV line 3 project early" launched by the Central Youth Union.
Accordingly, following the direction of the Prime Minister and the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has established 10 volunteer youth teams with 250 youth union members. The teams are tasked with widely disseminating the role and special significance of the 500kV power line project, circuit 3, from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) on social networking sites and information and communication channels of the Youth Union; actively participating in coordinating to ensure traffic safety in the area where the power line passes; participating in supporting the clearance of the scene, moving and transporting obstacles that obstruct or affect the power line; participating in supporting logistics, ensuring conditions, and supporting construction workers.
As a result, the province's volunteer teams excellently completed the workload before June 20. Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union was recognized, highly appreciated and rewarded by the Central Youth Union.
Through the above results, the general assessment so far is that the 2024 Summer Youth Campaign of Ninh Binh youth has been organized widely, effectively, safely, and sustainably, associated with the political tasks and practical needs of each locality and unit, creating a positive social mark.
PV: With the achieved results, what solutions does the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Vietnam Youth Union have to continue to effectively implement the Campaign in the coming time?
Comrade Nguyen Duc Hiep: In order for the 2024 Summer Youth Campaign to continue to be effectively implemented, in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will strengthen the direction of units to promote the highest spirit of initiative and creativity, closely following the key contents and established targets; promote coordination and socialization of resources to organize specific youth projects and tasks in key areas.
The key solution is to promote the implementation of the Central Youth Union's "3 linkages" policy (connecting forces, connecting localities, connecting communities). The Provincial Youth Union will strengthen the connection of self-established volunteer organizations, attract more union members, youth and social forces to participate in organizing new specialized teams, new volunteer activities, enriching activities on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Summer Volunteer Campaign.
At the same time, actively direct the Standing Committees of the District and City Youth Unions to concentrate highly, organize effectively and practically the peak days of the Campaign. Maximize the intelligence, pioneering spirit, enthusiasm and responsibility of each member and youth to have new models, good ways of doing things to solve specific problems arising in the implementation of political tasks in localities and units. In addition, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union will also establish working groups to inspect and grasp the situation of activities in the Campaign, promptly urge units to ensure the completion of the set targets.
