On March 13, a source from Dan Viet reporter said that the functional forces of Ia Grai district (Gia Lai province) are investigating the cause of the fire in the acacia hybrid area that has not yet become a forest in Ia Pech commune.
Accordingly, the above fire occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on March 1, at areas 10, 11, 12 of sub-area 353 (in Ia Pech commune). The burned area belongs to the planned production forest land.

Upon receiving the news, the Ia Gra District Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Ia Pech Commune People's Committee to mobilize 40 people to fight the fire. However, due to the large and fast-burning fire and strong winds that were difficult to control, the fire was not completely contained and extinguished until 5 p.m. the same day.
Through inspection, the authorities determined that nearly 25 hectares of acacia hybrid that had not yet become a forest were burned. The entire area was planted by 4 households in Ia Din commune (Duc Co district), with 100% damage to the plants that could not be recovered. The entire acacia area was planted in 2021 and 2022.
Immediately after the fire, the Ia Grai District People's Committee directed the District Forest Protection Department to preside over and coordinate with the District Police, the District People's Procuracy, the Ia Pech Commune People's Committee and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Gia Lai Provincial Police to investigate and determine the cause of the fire and the value of damage.
At the same time, the district also directed the People's Committee of Ia Pech commune to request households whose planted areas that have not yet become forests were burned to replant during the 2024 rainy season and households with planted forest areas to implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures.
