Confirming with VietNamNet reporters tonight (December 27), Hai Duong City leaders confirmed: Local police are investigating the cause of the fire that occurred in the Tran Hung Dao residential area (Nhi Chau ward), where residents have just moved in.
This is a housing project for low-income people in Hai Duong province. Each building is 15 floors high, invested by Newland Investment Joint Stock Company.
According to initial information from authorities, at around 5:30 a.m. today, a fire in a residential area damaged three cars.
The scene showed that the fire started from a car parked on the sidewalk in front of the building. The fire then spread to a white Mitsubishi Xpander and then to a Mercedes Benz parked in the same row. Upon discovering the incident, residents and the building's management team tried to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles.
As a result, the white car where the fire started was burned down to its frame. The other two cars were partially burned and are currently unusable.
Hai Duong City Police leaders said: The cause of the fire is being investigated, property damage is still being counted.
