Wu Haoran (born 2004) was born in Huoqiu County, Anhui Province, China. In March 2013, while playing in the schoolyard, Wu Haoran suddenly fell to the ground. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed the male student with a brain hemorrhage and required emergency surgery.
Facing the disease
After 20 days in the intensive care unit, Ngo Hao Nhiem passed the critical stage. Sharing about his condition, the boy's mother said: "Initially, Ngo Hao Nhiem was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, but the cause of the disease was not determined. The doctor said, my son is lucky to have kept his life."
After more than 8 months of recovery, Ngo Hao Nhiem's physical condition improved. Not long after, in early 2014, the male student was hospitalized again. This time, the doctor diagnosed Ngo Hao Nhiem with cerebral vascular malformation.
Once again, Ngo Hao Nhiem faced death when he had to undergo 2 brain surgeries to remove the damage. After 3 major surgeries, the male student lost the ability to move and had to be attached to a wheelchair for the past 10 years, his memory was also affected.
Never give up
Despite his illness, Wu Haoran never gave up. With the support of his family and friends, he overcame many difficulties to continue his studies. In 2020, Wu Haoran passed the entrance exam to a high school in Huoqiu County, China.

On the day of entering high school, Mr. Dai Dien An - the high school principal, offered to bring the male student some amenities in the school. However, the male student refused and said: " I am not disabled. I hope teachers and friends treat me like a normal person."
Ngo Hao Nhiem's difficulty in studying is facing memory loss. Compared to his friends, the male student has to make a lot of effort to achieve learning efficiency. " Witnessing Ngo Hao Nhiem trying to learn an English word many times to remember, I was very touched, " the principal shared.
Efforts to change the future
In the 2023 Gaokao (university) exam, the male student passed the university entrance exam with a score of 445/750. The results achieved are a testament to Ngo Hao Nhiem's relentless efforts. Although the score was not high, to achieve that, Ngo Hao Nhiem had to work hard.
"After 3 years of hard work in high school, you have been well rewarded. Teachers are satisfied and proud of Ngo Hao Nhiem," said a school representative.
Talking about his feelings, Ngo Hao Nhiem said: "Before the exam, I always study hard. Unfortunately, if the result is bad, I will not regret it ." The male student added that his parents have had a hard time over the past years because of him. They have placed a lot of hope in their son.
"This result is like a gift I want to give my parents. In the future, I want to do something to reduce the burden on my parents," the male student said.

With this score, the male student passed the entrance exam to Bang Phu Industrial and Commercial Academy. In early September, Ngo Hao Nhiem will officially start studying.
Sharing about the new difficult journey, the male student said there is still a long way ahead. " I will have to work harder and make more efforts to pursue my dream ," Ngo Hao Nhiem affirmed.
Recalling the moment he opened his admission notice, Ngo Hao Nhiem said he was very happy. "Besides being happy, I was also quite worried. However, I still accepted everything with a positive attitude ," the male student confided.
For Ngo Hao Nhiem, the past cannot be changed, but the future can. Therefore, in order not to fall behind, the male student affirms that he will try hard from now on.
Ngo Hao Nhiem's immediate plan is to focus on studying English to take the CET-4 certificate exam (a national English exam organized by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education).
"I may be slower than others, but as long as I try harder, I believe I can do anything," Ngo Hao Nhiem confidently talks about the future.
