32-year-old man donates organs to 'revive' 4 other lives

A 32-year-old man (residing in Phu Tho) who was brain dead due to a traffic accident was decided by his family to donate his heart to revive a patient in Hue and his liver and 2 kidneys to 3 patients at Viet Duc Hospital.

The young man is Mr. D.VT, 32 years old (residing in Luong Son, Yen Lap, Phu Tho). Originally a healthy young man, Mr. T. unfortunately had a traffic accident on his way home from work. His family took him to the district hospital, then transferred him to Viet Duc Hospital.

Despite the doctors' best efforts to save him, Mr. T.'s condition was so severe that he became brain dead. When they learned that Mr. T. could not survive, the Organ Transplant Consultation and Coordination Unit and the Organ Transplant Center of Viet Duc Hospital mobilized his family to donate organs to save his life.

Suppressing the pain of losing a loved one, Mr. T's father, who is also the only remaining relative in the family, agreed to donate his organs/tissues to revive seriously ill people.

Previously, Mr. T's older brother also passed away in a traffic accident when he was only 16 years old. His mother also passed away just over a year ago.

From Mr. T.'s donated organs, the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation coordinated the organ. His heart was transferred to Hue Central Hospital for transplantation to a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy - heart failure for 13 years. That humane act continued to create another miracle. Hope and survival continued to open up when 2 kidney transplant patients and 1 liver transplant patient at Viet Duc Hospital were also revived from the donated organs of the Phu Tho man. Currently, all 4 patients have stable indicators after transplantation.

"Special" heart on delayed flight

July 6, social network sharing about the special flight of Bamboo Airways when 159 passengers flying to Hue happily waited 23 minutes for takeoff with a "special" heart.

Previously, the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation coordinated the organ. Mr. T's heart was transferred to Hue Central Hospital for transplantation to a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy - heart failure for 13 years.

After retrieving the heart, Hue Central Hospital rushed straight to Noi Bai airport to board the plane. The total journey time was more than 23 minutes.

According to Bamboo Airways, after being informed of the reason for the flight delay, all passengers on the flight happily waited.

After the heart boarded the plane, the flight safely returned to Hue. The heart was taken off the plane first, into an ambulance waiting at the airport, and then taken straight to Hue Central Hospital. After more than an hour of surgery, Mr. T.'s heart was beating again in the chest of the transplant recipient in Hue.
