With this meaning, Dr. Huynh Tan Vu, Faculty of Traditional Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, advises some types of plants that bring fortune and are also medicinal herbs, which can be displayed at home at the beginning of the year:
Kumquat tree
According to folk beliefs, a kumquat tree laden with fruit symbolizes health, peace, longevity and luck in love, representing the reunion of many generations in the family. The dense yellow fruit represents prosperity, promising a new year of good harvest, prosperity and abundant vitality.

According to Oriental medicine, kumquats are spicy, sweet, slightly sour, warm, dissolve phlegm, reduce cough, regulate qi, and strengthen the spleen. Eating kumquats with a reasonable amount of rock sugar can cure coughs and asthma caused by wind-cold in the elderly. Eating kumquats marinated in sugar has the effect of stimulating appetite and regulating qi.
In particular, kumquat is rich in vitamin C, has antioxidant properties, enhances the body's resistance, improves the immune system, protects cells from harmful bacteria and viruses, and helps the body recover faster from a cold. This is a common disease during Tet when the weather changes from winter to spring.

According to ancient beliefs, apricot blossoms blooming on Tet holiday bring good luck, good health, prosperity, and wealth. According to traditional medicine, apricot blossoms are sweet and slightly bitter, warm, non-toxic, and used to treat diseases such as high fever, chest tightness, cough, sore throat, loss of appetite, and dizziness. Apricot blossoms contain many ingredients that promote the excretion process of the excretory system, protect the liver and gallbladder, and inhibit the formation of some types of bacteria that cause intestinal diseases such as cholera, coli, or dysentery bacilli.
Gerbera
The money flower is a flower that stands out with its bright colors, each flower is big and round like the old coins. The tree blooms all year round, so every spring, many families choose to display it. The flower symbolizes wealth and luck. Growing money flowers helps the homeowner to prosper in business, have many successes, helps to dispel bad luck and bring good luck.
This flower also purifies the air, removing trichloroethylene and benzene chemicals from many household materials from paint to synthetic fibers. It also releases more oxygen than other common houseplants, making it a great choice for people with breathing disorders.
