Amazing natural scenery on Co To Island

Just a few hours drive and speedboat ride from Ha Long, Co To archipelago with large islands such as Co To Lon and Thanh Lan and other small islands such as Co To Con, Hon De, Dao Tran... is a pristine paradise, where the sea has a changing blue color like the sky and the sand is pure white, giving anyone the feeling of being the first to set foot there. Having become a bright destination for tourists for more than 10 years, Co To has gifted people with amazing natural landscapes that few other places can compare to.

Once here, it seems that every tourist is captivated by the emerald green color of the sky and sea. Many people commented: "It is not too much to compare Co To beach with the most beautiful beaches on the planet". That is when bathing on the long sandy beach, and when taking a boat out to sea, just stopping at the reefs, you will see schools of small fish swimming in the blue water. The best time to travel to Co To is summer and autumn. April and May are ideal because there are no storms, no rain, and the sun is not hot yet. June and July are suitable for summer travel but there are often storms. September and October are beautiful but the weather starts to get colder and rains more - the plus point is that prices are not as expensive as in peak season.

Regardless of the season, you should check the weather forecast before departure to avoid being stranded for a long time because boats are prohibited from sailing during storms. If a storm suddenly hits while you are in Co To, follow the instructions of local authorities, or your tour guide if you are traveling in a group. Stay in a hotel or find a safe shelter, and only continue your journey when the storm has passed. Bring more money than you expect.

To get to Co To Island, visitors will have to go through 2 stages:

Stage 1: Arrive at Cai Rong port, Van Don, Quang Ninh

Tourists from the South or Central region will take a flight to Hanoi or Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and then travel by road to Cai Rong port, Van Don district.

If you do not drive your own car or motorbike from Hanoi, you can take a limousine or bus to Cua Ong, Cam Pha at My Dinh or Giap Bat bus stations. The price is about 150,000 VND to 200,000 VND one way. Travel time is nearly 4 hours.

Departing from Hai Phong, travel time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Limousine fare is about 150,000 VND one way, passenger car is about 120,000 VND one way.

Stage 2: From Cai Rong port, take a boat to Co To island

There are currently three types of boats: high-speed boats, wooden boats, and reinforced boats. Tourists often take high-speed boats and wooden boats.

Speedboat: Travel time is over an hour, ticket price is 250,000 VND one way. Boat companies include: Ka Long, Phuc Thinh, Co To 68, Tau Co To 01, Havaco, Nguyen Viet, Quang Minh, Manh Quang, Hai Vinh 89, Hoang Quan. Departure time is from 6:00 to 17:30.

Wooden boat: Travel time is nearly three hours, ticket price is 95,000 VND one way. Departure time from Van Don to Co To is 7am, return time is 1pm, departs as soon as there are enough passengers.
