The project to upgrade and renovate Tam Ky stadium and athletes' housing with an investment of 40 billion VND has been put into use, however, some items are still unfinished and do not ensure quality.
The Tam Ky Stadium upgrade and renovation project has a total investment of 40 billion VND, with items such as: Lighting system, renovation of the field surface, running track, grandstand and office building, 3-storey housing... The project is constructed by TATT Design and Construction Consulting Company Limited with a winning bid price of 31.1 billion VND.
The project started on March 26, 2024 and is expected to be completed in May 2025. To date, some items have been completed, such as: Upgrading the grass field, automatic irrigation system; athletics track. The remaining items are under construction. Some of these items have been handed over but the above situation has appeared.
Mr. Le Dinh - General Director of Quang Nam Football Development Joint Stock Company said: When the investor handed over the project (upgrading and renovating Tam Ky stadium and housing for athletes) to the management unit, there were still many items that were stuck and not completed during the use process, so we sent a document requesting the functional departments of Quang Nam province to consider and resolve.
Specifically, on February 21, Quang Nam Football Development Joint Stock Company sent Document No. 21 dated February 21, 2025 to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), requesting direction to complete the remaining items of Tam Ky Stadium to put into use. Such as installing seats in stand A, but up to now the construction unit has not installed them, causing frustration for the audience when coming to watch; The grass irrigation system on the field has had problems since January 23, but up to now it has not been fixed, affecting the quality of the grass on the field; the construction unit did not hand over specialized equipment to maintain the grass field, did not perform care and maintenance of the field, causing signs of drying out of the grass; functional rooms were found to have serious water leaks during use...
Mr. Vo Van Diem - Director of Quang Nam Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said: After receiving the petition from Quang Nam Football Development Joint Stock Company, we have checked and recorded the actual Tam Ky Stadium Upgrade and Renovation Project. The Project Management Board has directed the work with the construction unit and related units to promptly fix the remaining items to better serve the players participating in the competition and the audience coming to Tam Ky Stadium to watch football.
Previously, Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies had a meeting to inspect the implementation of this project. At the meeting, Mr. Binh requested relevant units to organize the acceptance of a number of items to ensure the organization of V-League matches of Quang Nam football team. Particularly for some rows of seats in the A stand of Tam Ky stadium, the construction unit was requested to quickly install them, and must be completed by January 30, 2025 at the latest.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Le Van Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the People's Committee of the province has sent a document to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and TATT Design and Construction Consulting Company Limited, requesting to urgently organize inspections, agree on a plan to handle and remove remaining issues of the project, report the results to the Provincial People's Committee for monitoring; in case there are issues arising beyond the authority, report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution.
