According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the city currently has 167 bridges, temporary bridges, and weak bridges that are deteriorating and potentially dangerous to people. Of these, 53 bridges are managed by the city, while the rest are managed by districts, towns, and cities. |
It is expected that the city will spend about 2,500 billion VND to support the construction and repair of bridges under the management of localities. Because these are all temporary and degraded bridges, most of them only ensure one lane or meet the needs of rudimentary vehicles and motorbikes. |
According to the reporter's records, there are many temporary bridges built along the Kim Nguu River. These bridges carry many vehicles every day. |
With steel bridges, the beams and horizontal connection systems are mostly rusted, the main beams of many bridges have degraded. |

Because they were built a long time ago, the steel of these bridges has rusted. |
"The bridge over Kim Nguu River was built a long time ago, and used to allow motorbikes and bicycles to pass through, but after many years of deterioration, the authorities only allow pedestrians to cross the bridge," said Mr. Hiep (Hoang Mai, Hanoi). |

"When I cross these bridges, I can clearly see the shaking. Although I'm a bit scared, I still have to go to get to the other side," said Mr. Tai (Hoang Mai, Hanoi). |

Similarly, another bridge across the Set River is seriously deteriorating. |
People living in the area said the bridge needs to be repaired to ensure people's travel. |
The railings and many steel structures were corroded by rust and were patchily repaired. |
