According to the plan to merge and propose streamlining the provincial organizational structure, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment merged with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Mr. Tran Nhu Long, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said: As soon as the Provincial Steering Committee directed the summary of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, the leaders of the two units met and discussed openly and democratically; based on the situation of the organizational structure and the number of staff, they agreed on the merger plan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration.

The new unit is expected to be named the Department of Agriculture and Environment with 20 departments and units (13 fewer units than before the merger). The organizational structure after the reorganization includes 7 professional departments, 7 affiliated branches, 5 public service units, and 1 financial organization. The review and reorganization process ensures scientificity; each department and unit has its own functions and tasks, without overlap; competent cadres, civil servants, and public employees are highly valued, creating conditions for promoting their expertise when the 2 units merge.

"In practice, there are jobs that overlap between the two departments, and during the implementation process, close coordination is required to resolve a certain procedure for the people. When merging, people only need to go to one agency to be able to resolve everything from the time of submitting the application to returning the results. I find the arrangement plan relatively compact, reducing the number of agencies by about 37%" - Mr. Tran Nhu Long, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said.
