'We will return to TNSV international'

"The whole team will train hard and come back stronger. If we are invited to return to the 2025 International Youth Championship - THACO Cup, we are determined to win the championship," coach Saswadimata Bin Dasuki of the Nanyang Technological University team (Singapore) sent a message of reunion to Thanh Nien Newspaper, right before boarding the plane to return home.

Like Coach Bin Dasuki, Head of the Singaporean team, Muhammad Syafiq Bin Juffri, left reluctantly, with words of thanks for everything. This was Syafiq's second visit to Vietnam, but unlike his previous trip, this time the team leader of Nanyang Technological University returned home with a suitcase full of souvenirs, along with unforgettable memories after days of wandering around the 2025 International Youth Football Championship - THACO Cup.

Not only Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, but also the other 5 teams participating in the International Youth Championship organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper were satisfied with what they received. For the foreign teams, it was a warm welcome right from the airport, special care from the hotel, nutrition, training and logistics throughout the tournament, and then ended with a thoughtful and lingering greeting on the day of return.

An international member joked that they were welcomed and sent off with standards no less than professional players. That is also what Thanh Nien Newspaper aims for: to build a professional tournament with attention to detail, so that student players have a playground to express themselves, strengthen friendship between countries in the region and strongly promote the school football movement.

" Thanh Nien Newspaper has made every effort to make the international tournament a success. I believe this playground will grow and develop even more," said Head of Delegation Muhammad Syafiq Bin Juffri of the Nanyang Technological University team. Not only the Singapore representative, the teams from Life University (Cambodia), Lao University and Malaysian University all hope to return one day soon.

Win for all

The 2025 International Youth Football Championship - THACO Cup ended on March 30 with the championship for Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It was a well-deserved honor for the team that played 10 matches in just 1 month, despite their declining physical strength, they did not give up, but always moved forward with unstoppable speed.

Coach Nguyen Cong Thanh's students have proven that student spirit, with the innocent and sincere fire of youthful enthusiasm, can create extraordinary things.

However, football is not just about winning and losing. Having come here, daring to face difficulties and pushing ourselves beyond our limits, all are winners, all deserve to have a trophy of their own. "Winning or losing is not as important as trying your best," emphasized Head of Delegation Phouvanh Simanovong of Lao University.

After the final match, the players of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism came forward to shake hands and encourage their friends from Lao University. During the match, they were opponents, but when the ball stopped rolling, all that remained was friendship, solidarity and the noble values of sports that made all hearts beat together.

At the intimate evening between the organizers and the participating teams, more than 100 players from many universities, representing many different cultures, sang together, talked together, and immersed themselves in an invisible melody that connected them all.

From the scarf brought by Life University (Cambodia), the traditional scarf of the Malaysian people, to the lyrical European and American music performed humorously by the boys of Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, the 2025 International Student Volunteers - THACO Cup became a cultural exchange festival, with bridges that will bring Southeast Asian friends closer together.

Not only limited to the football field, the tournament also promoted Vietnamese culture to international friends, when players from Ton Duc Thang University and Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism became tour guides, taking international friends on a day tour of Ho Chi Minh City, enjoying traditional dishes such as pho and banh cuon.

The Vietnamese people are always "as fragrant and indomitable as lotus branches", and it is that hospitality that moves everyone.

"The players were very happy. We will never forget this exciting experience," said Head of Delegation Syafiq from Nanyang Technological University.

Before leaving the tournament, Life University left a message in Vietnamese, "Thank you to the organizers for welcoming Life University so warmly," along with a sweet heart on the board in the locker room. Because, when we step into this playground, we receive back what we have given.

A journey has ended in the most perfect way. See you again in the new season!
