“Chapter 3: The Rising Star” is attracting great attention in the domestic and international martial arts community. The highlight match is the defense of the prestigious WBO Oriental Youth Super Lightweight belt between undefeated Korean boxer Song Chan Ho (11 wins) and Thai boxer Poran Min Saeng Bak. Notably, the event also features two exciting matches between two Vietnamese boxers and Chinese opponents. Also in this weigh-in, Huu Thuong and Van Hai will meet their upcoming opponents for the first time. Pham Huu Thuong will face Zeng Yujie, a Chinese boxer who has had nearly 30 professional matches, including 11 wins.

Veteran boxer Nguyen Van Hai, 7-time national champion, competed with Xiao Tao Su, a famous Chinese boxer who held 2 IBO Asia Pacific Championship belts and WBO Asia Super Featherweight belts. Notably, after the weigh-in, Huu Thuong made an interesting revelation when he said that his opponent was a real mystery to him as despite his efforts, he could not find any fighting videos.

“Although I have to face a much more experienced and highly rated fighter, I feel very comfortable and have no pressure at all before this match. Although I cannot watch any matches to comment on my opponent's technique, I am still very confident because the coaching staff has prepared me very carefully, especially in terms of technique and strength. “Competing at home and especially against a Chinese opponent, I will try my best to aim for a knockout victory. This is a very important match for me, because I need to accumulate enough points to be able to compete for the WBO Asia belt, I will try my best for my goal,” said Huu Thuong.

Unlike Huu Thuong, Nguyen Van Hai watched many videos of his opponent's matches to study with the coaching staff and come up with suitable fighting strategies. "My coaching staff and I have studied my opponent quite thoroughly. This is a boxer with much more professional boxing experience than me, with many impressive knockout victories. Watching this boxer compete, I see that he has very agile movements and very solid punches."

“To limit the opponent’s strength, I have prepared very carefully physically, focusing on running and cycling exercises to increase the endurance of my legs. We also have suitable tactics for the upcoming match, completely able to surprise the opponent and aim for a knock-out victory, completely convincing at home and satisfying the audience,” Van Hai shared.

Home field and home crowd are advantages for Vietnamese boxers.

In the remaining 3 matches, 17-year-old talent with mixed Vietnamese and Korean blood Lee Ju Yeong (whose mother is Vietnamese) will have the opening match against Bayarkhuu Ganbaatar (Mongolia). Tenorio Romeo (Philippines) will compete with Gun Kim (Korea) and no less notable is the big battle between another representative of Cocky Buffalo, Russian boxer Mikhail Lesnikov and Chinese boxer Xian Hai Zhang.

In addition to buying tickets to see this exciting martial arts event at The Grand Ho Tram Strip, audiences can also watch the tournament live on VTVcab's TV channel and TV viewing application.
