Athletes flock to Quang Tri, ready for Tien Phong Marathon 2025

As the starting point of Tien Phong Marathon 2025, many athletes gathered at the Quang Tri Province Cultural - Cinema Center at 1A Hung Vuong Street to start the training session.

Tien Phong Marathon 2025 will start in just one week, so all the teams are already in Dong Ha city, preparing for the tournament.

Coach Tran Van Sy disseminated the training plan for the members of the National Team and the National Youth Team. Tien Phong Marathon 2025 is considered one of the important tournaments to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand at the end of the year.

Nguyen Trung Cuong is a familiar face of Tien Phong Marathon. Coming to the tournament since 2016, he has twice won the 7.5km youth male category (2018, 2019), once won the 10km (2023) and won the 21km last year.

The athlete from Ha Tinh was radiant on the Quang Tri running track. He is not unfamiliar with this route as he won the 21km Quang Tri Marathon 2024 with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes 16 seconds.

Nguyen Thi Oanh currently holds the record of 8 consecutive Tien Phong Marathon 5km championships. Last year in Phu Yen, she finished with an impressive time of 16 minutes and 44 seconds. Next to Nguyen Thi Oanh is her "hardcore fan", Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh, who is aiming to defend her 5km championship for young women, which she won 1 year ago.

Nguyen Van Lai also participated in the Dong Ha City race. The 39-year-old veteran dominated the 5km and 10km races in his 20 years of professional competition. After retiring from the national team in 2023, he switched to the full marathon distance. At Tien Phong Marathon 2024 in Phu Yen, Nguyen Van Lai finished second after Hoang Nguyen Thanh with a time of 2 hours 27 minutes 10 seconds.

Besides the famous faces of Vietnamese athletics, Tien Phong Marathon 2025 also welcomes many promising new faces.
