Hai Phong's budget revenue reaches record high

At the regular meeting in March held on the morning of April 3, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu - Director of Hai Phong Department of Finance - said that the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 11.07% over the same period. Of which, the industry - construction group increased by 12.74%; the service group increased by 9.4% and the agriculture - forestry - fishery group increased by 1.52%.

In the first three months of the year, budget revenue in the area is estimated at more than 47,800 billion VND, an increase of 44.16% over the same period in 2024. Of which, domestic revenue reached more than 28,500 billion VND (up 48%), revenue from import-export activities was more than 18,700 billion VND (up 44%).

In March alone, the city collected more than 17,900 billion VND in budget revenue, of which domestic revenue was more than 10,700 billion VND.

In the first quarter, total investment capital implemented in the area reached over VND45,300 billion (up 15.9%). Export turnover is estimated at over USD8.58 billion (up 5.48%). The output of goods passing through the port is about 38.45 million tons.

The city welcomed about 1.8 million tourists (up 12.3%), including about 241,000 international visitors. The city also attracted more than 372 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) into projects in the area.

Mr. Tu informed that in the first 3 months of the year, the city has disbursed more than 2,500 billion VND of public investment capital, focusing on projects in the transport sector. Of which, the disbursement rate of capital from the central budget reached 100%, and the disbursement rate of the city budget reached 8.2%.

According to the Department of Finance's assessment, right after the Tet holiday, agencies, organizations and businesses immediately focused on work, not allowing delays to affect assigned tasks and production and business activities.

Many economic indicators continued to grow well compared to the same period, basically reaching and exceeding the expected plan such as: budget revenue, cargo output through ports, service revenue, total investment capital, etc. Social security policies were implemented promptly, festival and cultural activities were well organized, ensuring safety.

In the first three months of 2025, Hai Phong City's budget revenue reached a record high.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu also said that in the coming time, Hai Phong City will focus on implementing key tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2025. In particular, focusing on arranging and streamlining the organization and staffing of the political system. Resolutely implementing solutions to implement the 2025 theme "Expanding economic and urban space; promoting specific mechanisms and policies; enhancing green transformation and digital transformation".

Accelerate the progress of key transport, industrial and tourism infrastructure projects. Especially projects on seaports, airports, industrial clusters; tourism projects in Cat Ba, Do Son; urban projects, social housing, commercial centers. At the same time, promote administrative reform, administrative procedures, improve the investment and business environment.
